Find it really creepy and I imagine someone waiting in the Campari to get me .

Either you are totally alone in a building or you are not. In can't be creepy by dint of being deserted and also have people wandering in and out. You need to decide what it is you are worried about.

I get that its creepy so YANBU to be scared in the carpark but unless u never go out after dark then I think u just need to get a grip. Much more likely to get hurt once u get in your car and drive than the walk to it.

"why, Im alone im my house, its not creepy."

You were comparing the OP's fear of being alone in a car park, with you being alone in your home.

I give up.

GoSakuramachi · 10/10/2012 21:40

also you are far more at risk of harm within your house than anywhere else, so indeed it is an excellent comparison. Statistically you're about 100 times safer in your deserted building or in the car park than you are at home.

Flojo1979 · 10/10/2012 21:41

I'm with gosak on this one, the creepiness is in your imagination not a genuine risk factor determined by who has keys to the building.
Having said that, I live alone and sometimes get spooked in my own home at night.

Hm. I used to work alone some evenings on one floor of the BBC in Television centre, and that would definitely feel creepy, very different to being alone in a house! I would hear someone coming into my house, for a start, whereas they could get into TVC and my floor without my having any idea.

No dear, I have just painstakingly explained you that I wasn't. Get a responsible adult to read it to you if you still don't get it.
Yet again, COMPARISON WAS ALONE IN CREEPY BUILDING to ALONE IN HOUSE

do you need it in another language?
sole en anime konstruaĵo, sola en domo
allein in gruselige Gebäude, allein im Haus
bersendirian dalam bangunan menyeramkan, sendirian di rumah

Better?

PatriciaHolm · 10/10/2012 21:45

And I don't think a feeling of creepiness is particularly related to a statistical analysis of the likelihood of anything happening! Creepiness is definitely in the imagination, but it's definitely there, for some people, IYSWIM.

OHforDUCKScake · 10/10/2012 21:47

Wow. I havent come across such a patronising cunt in ages.
Well done you.

I don't like any empty buildings at night - my own home included if I'm on my own.

It's a bit of a phobia of mine going to bed when I'm alone at home. Goes back to childhood.

But it's good to know there are people who can dismiss others fears so flippantly Hmm

Flojo1979 · 10/10/2012 22:53

I know what u mean salmo I have phobia since childhood stuff too. But then my DP left, and there has to be a certain amount of: get over it and stop being so ridiculous!
