to boycott BBC children in need

And give my donations to nspcc and other children's charities. In fact, I will happily double my usual donations to other children's charities to show the BBC and any abusers that it is not acceptable. The BBC should be ashamed of itself, perhaps if they had more women in senior positions the Saville and other BBC 'stars' abuse would never have happened.

Anyway, I think it entirely inappropriate that BBC should collect any money for children until they can be sure there have been no further cover ups.

I've boycotted them for years because they donate to a charity I don't believe does good work.

I think if you're going to boycott CiN for this, you need to boycott everything.

The whole world was sexist and mysoginistic back then.

Comic Relief always emphasises that it 'also' funds UK projects, in a somewhat defensive way too...and then shows films with children in Africa living/dying in sewage juxtaposed with UK films of middle class, white people with health issues needing more support with extra curricular activities. Harsh, but the contrast is palpable- and worse when you consider that some of CIN/CR funding is needed to help people here who're suffering through other people's actions (abuse eg) ,rather than unfortunate circumstance of birth. I don't know the answer, but there surely is a hierarchy of need, whether we like it or not. I think poster who mentioned giving your time here, money abroad had it right, it's just finding the time...

(Also in the BBC's defence (re: Bruce and Tess) Mary Berry is 77 to Mr Hollywood's 46, does that count? Wink )

It's an old thread but just wanted to comment that i credit a CON funded visit to therapy we could never have afforded with giving my son speech, he is autistic, had fallen through gaps between services (was too young to meet priority criteria then when that changed miraculously too old!) and non verbal in Nursery / reception year- the clinic taught us PECs and in turn that enabled him to speak after a time.
