To have an 8yo's birthday party 6:30-8:30pm?

My dc wants a pool party, and the only time that the local pool can be hired for parties is 6:30-7:30 with food after.

Now I know with my RL friends my children are the latest to go to bed at 9/9:30pm, so it doesn't bother me having a party at this time.

The party will be on a Saturday, so no school or anything to get up for the following day (some may have church).

AIBU to hold a party at this time? Are we going to end up Billy No Mates with no attendees?

My kids are usually ravenous after swimming so they would have to eat, and will be all wound up and full of food so I couldnt see them going to sleep anytime before about 10pm. For that reason, if mine were invited I would say no.

Sorry but I think that YABU.

I would be absolutely fine with that.

DSS1 (7) would be ok but he'd pick through the food as we'd have had to have fed him beforehand.

I think teaching a little flexibility to routine (he usually has his bath at 7.30 and is in bed by 8) is a good thing.

yanbu as you know some friends go to bed late. Yabu if you get annoyed if quite a few people decline.

I wouldn't sense dd (8) bit just because she would be ill the next day. She is always ill if she goes to bed after 8am. She needs 11 hours sleep or she is physically poorly. And she can't seem to sleep past 7am.
