After last years brilliant campaign and wonderful song by Slow Moving Millie I am really looking forward to this years effort even though it's only October.

I have heard on the grapevine that the song being used this year is Frankie Goes to Hollywoods 'The Power of Love' but re done by the utterly brilliant Imogen Heap.

Should be well worth waiting for.

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:02

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 12:02

have you SEEN how many christmas tradition threads there are?
its like baby pasta all over a frigging gain

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:04

Well i won't be buying new PJs or icing the landing, and i do know what you mean Bonny. I am not a huge Christmas fan TBH.

GrimAndHumourless · 06/10/2012 12:04

hah Bonny I saw baby pasta the other day and thought of yew

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:04

Tell me about baby pasta

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 12:05

oh in Ye Olde days they stopped making it. And the mother hood of the ( very small mn then) MN went bananas. there was a thread a day asking where it was.

the answer was always " go to your local Italian deli"
and all of us out of the M25 looked as blank then as we do when they refer to fishmongers or local alterations service.

EllenParsons · 06/10/2012 12:07

Ooh I love Imogen Heap! I will love the ad if she's singing on it.

I like the current one but my sister was really confused and thought it was for a dating agency hahah :)

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:07

Grin I remember Milupa used to do 'Baby Gravy' which made me every time I saw it. Never heard of baby pasta, my two never had any. OMG have I done them a disservice?

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 12:08

yup - as bad as not breastfeeding.

honestly - they will never get on from stage 4 ORT

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:09

OMG that's why I had to get DS1 a maths tutor in Year 2 isn't it? Sad

DontmindifIdo · 06/10/2012 12:10

I love all things Christmassy, including the John Lewis advert.

Bonny, Christmas is fun.

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 12:11

Christmas is fun in December sometimes. Wink

Scheherezade · 06/10/2012 12:35

I love Christmas Grin my mum hated it and refused to have anything to do with it as a kid, when I got older I stayed at friends houses and had Christmas with their families. It's made me go the complete opposite, I want to enjoy and have loads of fun at Christmas, and show a positive happy atmosphere for my DCs, I never ever want my family to be exposed to the same sad, cold, bitter joyless time that I had as a kid.

balotelli · 06/10/2012 14:53

Bonny crawl back into your bed and get out the otherside you miserable sod!.

and I am not a lady but a sentimental christmas and Imogen Heap loving male with three kids and really looking forwrad to seeing their faces on christmas morning.

It makes being a parent even better.

So I will be the first to wish you all HAPPY CHRISTMAS !!! Grin

Numberlock · 06/10/2012 15:01

I can't forgive Morrissey for giving JL permission to use that track. Shame on him.

And I'm starting a Bonny fan club.

redlac · 06/10/2012 15:04

As long as its not some whiney female singer murdering a Smiths song ill be happy

redlac · 06/10/2012 15:05

I agree numberlock - my love for Moz reduced a little when I heard that awful version

GrimAndHumourless · 06/10/2012 15:06

bound to be a whiney female, always is

redlac · 06/10/2012 15:07

Is it the whiney female murdering an inxs song that is the current JL advert?

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 15:08

Isn't it Paloma Faith doing the INXS song? I quite like her, but all this song pinching shouldn't be allowed.

Numberlock · 06/10/2012 15:08

That song was an anthem to unrequited love and he turned it into a middle class spending spree. Please please please let me get an iPhone and a nice Ted Baker bag.

Fuck off.

BonnyDay · 06/10/2012 15:42

christmas is fine. its the mass hysteria on here thats shit.
