AIBU?

to expect the caravan to definitely be clean before we arrive?

We are going to stay at my SIL's caravan soon. She only rents it out to family, friends, colleagues and their friends. She doesn't want to use an agency and doesn't charge much at all, and she charges a bit less for family rather than friends too.
We've only stayed there once, and that time my SIL had been in the caravan a few days before us, so had cleaned up herself before we got there. We had to rush home a day early as I fell ill and had to go to hospital, so I didn't get chance to clean up before another family member had use of the caravan immediately after us.
This time it's a bit different, it's someone that SIL vaguely knows who's in before us. DH was on the phone to SIL last night and it turns out that her usual cleaning arrangement is for each family to clean up after themselves i.e. she never gets a proper cleaner in. (She does however pop down to the caravan fairly often, perhaps once a month.) I was quite shocked at this, I cannot believe that she expects people to take over a caravan for a weekend/ week without anyone checking it over! AIBU to expect her to use a proper cleaner each time?
I have to confess that static caravans are not really my cup of tea anyway, I'm just going to keep DH happy, so I'm not sure if I'm being a bit snobby?

so have I, both as a chambermaid and in my last job, virtually lived in hotels until DD1 was born. When I was cleaning, we had supervisors checking our rooms before they were released to the guests.

i suspect you take your own bedding, how mucg cleaning does a carvan take to clean.

When I've rented cottages, I've generally left them cleaner than when I arrived. What makes you think the people before you will have lesser standards of cleanliness than you do yourself?
