In our house we have Saino's, Tecso, and I've heard P r i m a r k referred to as Primarche.

Oh and if I'm feeling super bitchyI remember the way my exMIL said 'Wait Rose' pronouncing it as two separate words as if that somehow made her even posher and more sophisticated: 'I'm so posh, I don't just shop in Waitrose, I call it Wait Rose' [grrr] [exMIL hate emoticon]

kekouan · 03/10/2012 22:46

Should have NC back before gobbing off, you'd have ignored the ranting then Grin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 03/10/2012 22:48

Yes.

Add in suitable swearing to the beginning or end of the comapny name and avoid all capitals.

That I can cope with Grin

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 03/10/2012 22:49

How about Boobs and Necks, then?

WorraLiberty · 03/10/2012 22:51

Agros?

JarethTheGoblinKing · 03/10/2012 22:54

Iwish - I like the swearing at the beginning of names..

I also like ARGHos

Startailoforangeandgold · 03/10/2012 22:54

Style and Beauty is going to look mighty daft if it auto links every mention boots to Boots.

High Boots, Flat Boots, Tall Boots, short Boots conjurers up all kinds of images and I'm not sure where to tuck my jeans in.

McHappyPants2012 · 03/10/2012 22:54

Just put MN before the shops name

GolfOscarLimaDelta · 03/10/2012 22:55

Quite like just adding the swear word in there pissingcouthy.

Will do that then.

bollockinboots sound painful though. :)

fuckboots sounds like something else entirely.

peanutMD · 03/10/2012 23:00

boots
Sainsburys
Tesco
Asda
Next

... I just want to see if I get the linky thingy

RubberNeckerNicker · 03/10/2012 23:01

Better if we just came up with a single bastardising rule, rather than lots of new names. Much as I love the idea of cuntingxxxx, perhaps easier to type would be to double up the second letter:

Teesco
Saainsburys
Arrgos
Booden
Taalk talk
Booots

If MNHQ insist on persuing this maybe we could at least have an opt out in settings

peanutMD · 03/10/2012 23:01

Primark
Argos
John Lewis
Boden
Vertbaudet
Tkmaxx
Laredoute

SlightlyJaded · 03/10/2012 23:02

Or maybe phonetically is the way to go:

Purr Oona Speziale
Sainsbree
Bow-den

Or if already phonetic, random letter change: Tesko

Hmm CuntingSainsbury might be easier to remember though

JarethTheGoblinKing · 03/10/2012 23:03

this is turning into an awful lot of free advertising for the likes ar ARGHos, Booden, Sainbugs and Tescooooo isn't it? Grin

peanutMD · 03/10/2012 23:03

To be fair it only converted 2 of 12 then :o

Why not just put a dot or something at the end, would that work?

.John Lewis
sainsburys.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 03/10/2012 23:04

Ooh Saynsbreeze came up as a link then, I got one, I got one!!

peanutMD · 03/10/2012 23:05

Dot at the beginning seems to work

JarethTheGoblinKing · 03/10/2012 23:06

I think it would be fine if things like boden.co.uk automatically converted to a link?

JarethTheGoblinKing · 03/10/2012 23:06

Ooohh Grin

DaveMccave · 03/10/2012 23:09

Did you not realise those links mean you have bugs/spyware/virus's on your computer? It's not a MN thing.

I have them too and have done for ages, but can't be arsed fixing it.

SlightlyJaded · 03/10/2012 23:11

Dave. MNHQ have confirmed that the links are a new revenue stream for them

CouthyMowWearingOrange · 03/10/2012 23:12

MN have said it's not malware, it's a new revenue stream. Which is going to make it harder to decipher when you DO have malware...

manticlimactic · 03/10/2012 23:13

It's a MN thing. Someone from MNHQ came on and said. But it is a buggy thing too Dave.

Get ad block people. I don't have the linky things. Boots
