He will do this most of the evening when we are watching the tv. he says he cannot understand why I get upset about. I have told him it makes me feel sick and I do not want to stay in the room. He says it should not bother me and that everyone does it(!). He will crack his finger separately, 10 cracks, and then start all over again for about 5 or 6 times. It is driving me mad!

Oh this drives me mad too, my ds2 (11) does it all the time. He says his fingers hurt until he does it, and I see others have said the same so maybe its true!

My toes crack, snigger. If I don't (and half the time I couldn't stop them if I wanted to, they just do it as I move) they hurt, and eventually they lock up to the point where I start losing my balance and then I can't walk...

Ok, Naoko, now I just think you're just lining up your excuses so as to chain someone into a life of servitude the moment you hit retirement with your achey joints and a disinclination to bend down. Grin

Naoko · 04/10/2012 10:15

Um. You're probably joking, so I'm taking this far too personally, but it's an actual medical condition and affects me quite severely. Me and my sense of humour failure will now retreat to somewhere that has more caffeine so as to be less humourless the rest of the day.
:(

snigger · 04/10/2012 10:25

So sorry if that offended you, it was supposed to be humorous - I retract it, and apologise, wasn't intended to cause any hurt. Smile

snigger · 04/10/2012 10:26

[deliberately cracks fingers in support]

You've got to know how much it bothered me, to make me do that Grin

Here, have a Wine. Crack on. Arf Grin

Must be crap though, it's one thing when it's a lumbering 46 yr old grump doing it deliberately, involuntarily must be a royal PITA.

Naoko · 04/10/2012 10:49

Bit early for the Wine maybe but it's a thought, might help with the grumpiness :o

I do understand how much some people hate the noise and I try to be considerate around people who can't stand it but there's only so much I can do, really. There's certainly no need for a performance. I just crack whatever needs cracking and get on with it.

Naoko - yes he can do all those things. He is extremely flexible and often complains of aches and pains in his joints when he gets up in the morning.

I will talk to GP as he does seem to be in considerabel discomfort.
