anyone else been following this trial with his ex girlfriend?

so he shacks up with this woman who has a history of alcoholism, drug taking, self harming, promiscuity, blackmail and suicide attempts. The short affair ends, he gets caught in the papers, she threatens to expose more about him and hounds him with phone calls even after changing his number. He reports her to the police. end of story

Roll forward a few years and he leaves his wife for this same woman, moves in with her and now winds up in court on an abuse charge because - surprise surprise - the woman needs help in the head and he is a fruit loop for going back with her. she sounds like a first class manipulator and he sounds like a first class idiot.

Honestly, what was he thinking?!?!?! Career suicide? Me thinks so. I have lost all respect for the guy for going back to her again. He is nothing to me now

He is undoubtedly a horrible, abusive bully.

The tape recordings speak for themselves. It doesn't matter that she set him up, he still said the things that he said - things a decent person just would not say, even in anger.

That said i think the girlfriend sounds desperately unhinged too.

I think abusers often pick victims who would struggle to be believed.

The fact that she doesn't make a very good witness does not mean she is making it all up.

If she hadn't got the tape, it would be very, very easy to believe 'his' version, that she is totally unhinged, manipulative etc.

With the tape, I believe her.

Justin Lee Collins had a great partnership with Alan Carr and seemed like a genuinly nice and funny guy. However, this court case puts him in a different light. I will await the court verdict though before reserving judgment. His programmes on getting Star Trek, A-Team and Star Wars crews back together was different class.
