AIBU to through away every sock in the house and replace them

There are 4 sock wearing humans in this house.
Myself, DP, dd1 & dd2....

We are moving house on Saturday -

DP has been working away in Europe and dd3 is 5 weeks old - chaos doesn't begin to describe the house at the moment.

Odd socks. I'm FED UP of odd bloody socks.

There has been a break down in the sock care in the house since DP was in charge of laundry when the baby was born.

Odd socks galore.
Going through dd1 room I've found a haud of odd socks.

Loads of DPs socks have holes. Gah.

I want to bin every single sock & start again.

How much would it cost to save my anxiety?

£30?

Embrace the BASKET OF ALL SOCKS my friends. Never have sock stress again

OnlyWantsOne · 30/09/2012 23:17

Why would beaten women want a bag of crap old socks?

Hmmmmmm

I used to buy the black socks with the coloured/patterned heels and toes, and then deliberately mismatched them (dh and the dses are happy with this) - so much easier. Now they all prefer the thick, blacks sports socks from Primark - all identical so,no pairing up issues. We sort the socks and pair them up, then make sure everyone has a fair share.

Nork, the trouble with the Basket Of All Socks is that I live with two teenage boys. I don't want to share their socks. Confused Really, really I don't!

NorksAreMessy · 30/09/2012 23:24

Have the teenage boy socks been used for OTHER PURPOSES than toe-cosying?
If so, you may need to knit a wank-sock?

Am going away now. I have disgusted myself

5madthings · 30/09/2012 23:30

I do as norks does! Only i have three pampers boxes full.of socks! the boys sometimes make a pair!

I did buy the four boys new grey socks for school this sept and for a week i ruthlessly made the take them off, pair them up and put them.in the wash like that as soon as they got home!...three weeks in and we already have lost some....wails...but i refuse to care!

flow4 · 30/09/2012 23:35

Hahahaha, I have no PROOF, but I have SUSPICIONS! Confused
Wanking AND gym. Disgusting. Shock
AND so I keep my socks LOCKED. Grin

Whatdoiknowanyway · 30/09/2012 23:39

My DDs went off to uni last week and between them have taken practically every sock I thought was mine... Have just done a major restock of my sock drawer.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/09/2012 23:41

This is why ds only has plain black socks all bought from one shop. Dd does have white 'school' socks and other normal socks but somehow we seem to avoid the sock stealing mobster most of the time (it helps we have loads of socks so they can stay in the odd sick pile for ages) Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/09/2012 23:48

I bought ds1new socks and boxers to take to university - so he has enough to last him between trips to the laundrette. He only left today - I am feeling a bit blue at the fact that my precious baby has left me.

Startailoforangeandgold · 01/10/2012 14:47

The DDs and I could have a monster of all socks box, but DD2 is a fuss pot, I'm sure she'd object to other people's socks.

We'd all object to DHs size 11 monstrosities. Also as men's socks are 6-11 or something they are all wearing at the toes and heals from being stretched.
