ManicMaria, the interesting thing is that my family is rabidly Catholic and my brothers and I went to Catholic schools, I sang in the church choir every Sunday, took Communion, went to Confession, spent time with Jesuits in my house having meals with us, chatting to them when I bumped into them down the High Street etc etc etc. not one Jesuit or nun was at all worried by LoB.

Mum said that surely God was strong enough to laugh at himself (one would assume so, omniscient, omnipotent and all that). So what were our councillors getting in a lather about? And as for Malcolm Muggeridge, well, honestly.

Genius, pure genius. We're just watching it again now. Thanks mumsnetters! Grin

Also adore holy grail.

An African or a European swallow? GrinGrin

What age should I let ds1 start watching? We already do lots of the sketches. We have a parrot puppet that is often "ex".

All the monty pythons are fucking hilarious, but life of Brian is my absolute favourite. I am a Christian, I don't find it offensive at all. Probably because it's just too obviously a total piss take no one in their right mind would take it seriously.

Love it too.

I was banned by my mum from watching it when it cam out. My mum obviously has never seen it.

But then she also once said, "Who ever owns the rights to the Bible should sue Madonna and make her change her name".
