Fenton.

Because that's what it's like every time we leave the house.

Fine in the park (unless he decides to run throught the middle of a football match) but not so much fun if I have to take him shopping.

DS1 wasn't like this and my legs are 21 years older.

Sounds entirely reasonable in the circumstances.

Grin I just watched the link to You tube, OMG Fenton the dog is so funny. I had to let Dd watch it she got the giggles.
I used reins on Dd till she was about 4, she was a runner.

ShowOfHands · 22/09/2012 21:42

DD was a pliant, biddable, easy child. Still is at 5. She never tantrummed, never bolted, never did anything that she'd been specifically told not to. I was quite self congratulatory about my parenting skills.

Then, er, ds was born. He's 12mo. And my self congratulations has morphed into despair as he scales the curtains brandishing a potato masher whilst attempting to climb out the open window. For. The. Third. Time. Today. At least he's still contained in the sling when we go out.

Now I know parenting is nowt to do with it and personality is everything.

On a side note, I saw a boy today, about 2ish on reins. Only he'd given up. On everything. His Mum was carrying lots of bags and 2 boxes and this little boy had decided to hang from his reins like a puppet. Nothing would induce him to move. Aforementioned, biddable dd went over and chatted to him and enticed him along with bites of her banana. Grin I have all this to look forward to...

I'm only laughing Show because otherwise I'd be weeping.

I know exactly how you feel.

Exactly

Fenton tried to dismantle a bus the other day.
Posssibly because I'd never thought to expressly forbid him to dimantle moving buses. Silly me.

Grin sounds like a normal 4 year old. Dd is nearly 5 and the other day she picked up a feather that had fallen on the road and sucked it like a lolly. I wasn't amused.
