Because a 4% meat content can't possibly be enough for a carnivore?

DH thinks I am being hugely unreasonable as the higher meat content food is more expensive. I just want to make sure I give my kitten the healthiest food I can, I wouldn't give my kids crap to eat so why would I give it to my cat, she's still part of the family.

DH thinks she is just a cat and plenty of cats survive perfectly well on whiskas including my mums so I shouldn't be fussy.

I know in reality she will get plenty in the form of birds/mice/rats whatever but she hasn't been spayed yet (vet said she must be 6 months, although my mum's cat was done at sixteen weeks). I am keeping her in until its done as we have a large feral population on the wasteland a couple of gardens away; the last thing I want is kittens and I was told this one's mum started calling at 5 months.

I'd have to agree with Sammi, cats decide themselves. Vet said dried was fine so they have mostly dried and wet only once a week but they do eat anything and everything they can catch and the boy tonight ate a jalapeno. He gobbled it up, made an odd face, humphed, drank a load of water then grabbed another when we were stacking the dish water. He's a weirdo though, eats anything

There's nothing wrong with whisk as food felix food is like rubber.

It depends on your budget I suppose. Dry food or anything is fine for them- no need to get anything except basic food. People and animals don't actually need much protein, or they wouldn't make the food this way.

My little one gets a combination of Lilys Kitchen/Applaws/Thrive grain free dry food (try and rotate through them a bit so she doesn't get too bored. She won;t really eat wet food, despite me trying. She just licks the gravy off and left the meat so I stopped buying them (I've tried all the brands ha). What she loves though is the soups, gravy's, the fish fillets or loins you can buy, and the chunks in soup, so she gets all manner of those, and lots of water. I try and give her a combo of everything and buy better quality stuff cause I spoil her haha.

Not being unreasonable but as PP have said, it'll be down to the cat in the end.

I have 3 and they eat Felix As Good As It Looks wet food, and Purina Sensitive dry. We've tried no end of combinations of different high end foods and this is the only one that all three will eat, and not have terribly upset stomachs.

So just find what works for you and the cat, and go with it 😊

Mine won't eat anything except Felix wet and Harringtons dry. We've tried loads of other combinations and it's just a total waste. One has a sensitive stomach and this also seems to be the only combination that keeps his poo solid which is most important for me Grin
