I'm 32 weeks pregnant and this last week or so I just feel constantly tired and especially noon-ish I need to put my head down on the sofa and sometimes drift off.
I always make sure the windows , gate etc is locked If I feel a bit woozy but I'm always aware of that when I have my toddler etc. but sometimes I like properly fall asleep which freaks me out as my toddler pokes me to wake me up or has to give me a shake! Blush
And sometimes having a cup of tea/coffee etc suddenly makes me much more tired.
I'm just a bit confused really and a bit worried
AIBU to be this sleepy at this point??

YANBU, it's hard being pregnant with a toddler. Cozy up on the couch with a throw, put a DVD/cbeebies on and both have a nap. That's the only way I got through the last weeks of my 2nd pregnancy when DS was little.

Are you anemic?

Does your toddler sleep in the day? Maybe you could sleep then?

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and feel like that!

I've got so much to do and feel groggy and can't get going.

What helps me - though I forget or its convenience is
spatone with oj and a floradix multi vit tablet
No bread and less carbs.

This morning I had 2 slices of toast and forgot to take my floradix yesterday.
Am kicking myself.

thanks for replies

I don't think I'm anaemic if I am its a new development.

no they don't sleep at all during the day haven't done since they were 2.

I shouldn't worry about it. When I was pregnant at work, I would have half an hour at about 2 o'clock slumped over my typewriter - fast asleep. Luckily, it was a very small establishment and others didn't really notice. When we had a pregnant temp come a few years later and she did the same, I allowed her to because I knew that she couldn't help it. You just can't help it.

KillerRack · 20/09/2012 13:05

I know I think people think 'another excuse' but its a physical 'my body is telling me to sleep' goes into shutdown mode its not the same, you can be exhausted non pregnant and its still not quite the same is it??.

Its not the same. I can never sleep in the day unless I'm pregnant. That exhaustion takes over and I'll happily snooze for a couple of hrs.

Make sure you're getting enough iron and vits though. Anaemia can come on later during pregnancy. Check your diet too. It may help you feel less 'drugged'

god I know how you feel. I am 36+4 with my third and sooooo tired. I have low blood pressure and low iron, did they test your bloods at 28 weeks? it would have showed up if your iron is low or borderline.
Try snacking on high protein foods like peanut butter on a slice of bread or an egg sandwich etc. and don't feel bad about putting a dvd on for the kids and chilling for an hour.
I think the third trimester is awful for fatigue, not too much longer to go x

Im 28 weeks pregnant and I felt like this over the summer, just a small amount of activity would make me so sleepy I would sleep for 3-4 hours in the day and then a full 12 hours at night. They said my iron levels were on the low side at my 25 week appointment and I started taking iron pills then, I feel much better now, I still like 12 hours at night but I can mannage an entire day (which is lucky as I am back at work after the summer holidays now)

My iron was really good at my 12 week test so I was supprised it had gone low so quickly, in my first tri I was eating a box of strawberries a day and they are high in iron so maybe that is what made my iron so high at the start.
