To think its impossible to never feel hungry?

Something in another thread today, made me think about this.

I have a very close relative who claims she never does Confused no pangs ...no desire to eat.

I do catch her shoving things in her mouth directly from the fridge though.

Is this something she just 'tells herself?'

Anyone here have that? I just can't believe it...

I shake if I miss just one meal.

HowBoutNo that's what my DD says every time she sees McDonalds - even if she's just had lunch Grin

Complaining as in thinks she's too heavy? Depending on build 9st is a healthy weight but do you think she wants to lose weight and that this would be unhealthy?

The control aspect of not eating with people and the sneakiness ring alarm bells. Some people are just really picky and snack rather than eating meals though. Are you going to talk to her and find out what's bothering her? There will be some other problem causing any ED but it may be hard to get at. Maybe she'd just like to do something fun that doesn't revolve around food.

Sounds a bit dodgy to me, what with the fridge shovelling.

My mum always claims she can't eat such a big meal if you give her a normal portion of anything. She'll always have a bit of my dad's dinner instead, poor buggar. And if you go to M&S, she'll insist on sharing a pack of sandwiches as she can't possibly eat them all. I can manage all four tiny triangles of bread myself thank you very much but she won't have it!

Then you catch her eating a shed load of biscuits on the sly and realise why she's never hungry...

Leaving your relative aside, since I started eating lower carb-higher fat/protein I've rarely felt hungry in the past year. I just don't get those stomach rumblings or pains any more. It's very common with this way of eating as the fat & protein satiate for far, far longer.

The lady in question is 53, she has had some issues all her life.

I posed the question as I have always suspected she needed some help understanding food.

The "I'm never hungry" stance has obviously been her defense. I just didn't know if I was imagining things, and that it is possible not to ever feel hungry.

lottie she thinks she is too heavy, she has a medium build....well she did have Wink anyway. I know builds can't shrink, but her unusual eating habits have sort of changed her shape IYSWIM?

I suppose alarm bells really started to chime (for me) when she started to get almost angry when she saw larger ladies in leggings Confused That is not something that I would even notice.

Recently she has suffered from heart palpitations, and chest pains. I think its quite clear her body is under stress. :(

I went through a period where I didn't get hunger pangs or anything like that at all - however it was when I was suffering from constant bouts of acute pancreatitis. Like veritable ^^ I would only realise that I hadn't eaten when my blood sugar dropped and I started shaking.

Hmm, lots of people do notice larger ladies in leggings: they are quite noticeable! I've certainly heard outrage, as in 'why do that to yourself? For GOODNESS SAKE!' from more than one person. I don't think that's unusual. (Not from me bw, I am pretty zen, people can wear what they like.)
