DD (p3) teacher told her class to write ditto marks in her homework diary.

Monday - reading and spelling
Tuesday - " "

AIBU to think this sort of teaches laziness/taking the easy option. Or just a PFB moment ? :)

I would be making ds1 write it out regardless of what the teacher said, because writing in his homework diary is one of the few occasions I can get him to write without moaning and I'm an evil mare

No need I can just take the lazy way out and wait until parents night .

I might try telling DD to just put ditto marks on her actual homework and see how well that goes down .

It's a good idea to introduce the ditto marks, but I think children of that age should be writing it out as handwriting practice. Many of them still struggle at that age.

Why do 6yo need to know what ditto means ?

So they can do what their teachers ask them and not have their parents complaining about using ditto marks Grin
