My DD started nursery today.. she absolutely loved it but had abit of a runny nose, nothing major. However tonight she has started feeling really yuk and now has a pretty high temp. Feel really bad interrupting her start at nursery with time off but I really wouldn't feel right sending her in feeling unwell. AIBU to keep her home on her second day of nursery?

See how she is in the morning.

DS was the same last night but bright and breezy this morning!

If she is unwell then YWBU to send her to nursery, not the other way round!

Hope she's ok.

I'd see how she does tonight and how feels in the morning and if she is still running a temperature and feeling rubbish keep her off.

If she is ill, you have no choice really but to keep her off. She will be sent home once they realise she has a temperature.

Unfair on other children to send her.

Keep her off.

(I know its a pain so soon, but unavoidable.)

It sounds like a cold, I would send dc in with a common cold

Yeah I thought as much. I will just see how she gets on during the night. Thanks.

My DS was full cold last week after just 3 days, so thursday morning I rang his teacher and explained he'd had a bad night, had been sick with the mucus collecting at back of his throat and she advised me to keep him off for the 2 days.
She said it's his 1st week and if he's poorly it could upset his settling in period, plus because he had been sick there was a 48hr policy anyway.

DS was most upset he couldn't go but it saved other kids catching what he had. It hasn't caused any problems, he settled straight back in just nicely.

If kids are bad they are bad, they reckon 1st few months they will be more prone to bugs, so no, yanbu! Hope she has a speedy recovery!
