I don't know why it just sounds so affected!

It's not nearly as bad as threads that start with "Tell me about..." or "Talk to me about..."

NO!

It feels like an instruction, that they're sat there at the head of the thread, with all their minions coming over, talking to them about the thing they've been instructed to divulge information about. I hate it and never post on threads that start with "Come and talk to me about X,Y,Z.."

It's OK when it really means "so" i.e. therefore.

"It's nice and dry outside"

"So - we can put some washing on the line"

But I hate the current fashion for using it instead of "Well".

"What are you planning to do this weekend?"

"So - we thought we might go to the seaside."

Grrrrrrrr !!

I just called DH:
"So!!! You'll never guess what just happened!"
"So what happened?!"
"DS did [something super boring that we're totally PFB over]"
"So what happened next?"
etc etc

Nearly every sentence started with "so". But it felt so right.

(I started that sentence with "but", just in case a new object of frothing is needed... Wink)
