I am pregnant due in October. Dh went to football today and came back with bodysuits from club shop. They worked out at £7 each.
AIBU to think this is a crazy amount to pay for a bodysuit. I wouldn't mind so much if summer and, therefore, theymay be on show. But in winter!!!

Bodysuits?

No idea what you are talking about Blush

WorraLiberty · 15/09/2012 22:54

What is a bodysuit?

Socknickingpixie · 15/09/2012 22:54

do you mean poppered vests?

squeakytoy · 15/09/2012 22:55

do you mean a babygrow?

Kayano · 15/09/2012 22:55

Sorry I now understand! (in my defence I was in A&E all last night and am running on nothing.

As a novelty one off I can't see the harm.

squeakytoy · 15/09/2012 22:56

Doesnt sound all that expensive either, unless he came back with ten of them..

ChaosTrulyReigns · 15/09/2012 22:56

It's not the most exhorbitant babygrow I have seen.

But would be quite costly if it was only owrn once, as it would be in my house. Hullo there, 95degree wash, myfriend. Wink

avon01 · 15/09/2012 22:56

poppered vests, Now a babygro would be fine.

Oh, a baby bodysuit! Are they logoed?

ChasedByBees · 15/09/2012 22:57

It's quite sweet that he bought something, he's obviously excited (although yes, they are pricey).

WorraLiberty · 15/09/2012 22:59

Ahh I see...I thought you meant for an adult - like a onesie or something Blush

Kayano sorry to hear that...hope you're ok?

avon01 · 15/09/2012 22:59

Yes logoed so I see why they cost that but no one is even going to see it.

hugoagogo · 15/09/2012 23:03

It's cute that he bought them, it made me Smile,

but yes you could have bought 4 for that price, never mind though

TheMonster · 15/09/2012 23:03

Sounds abut right for the ones with logos on. I bet they aren't good quality though! What team, out of interest?

Myliferocks · 15/09/2012 23:05

When we had our irst child over 16 yrs ago we only bought 0-3 mth clothes as everybody had told us that we woldn't need newborn size. When I had DD1 it became obvious within a day that 0-3 months was way to big. While I was still in hospital I sent my OH off to Childrens World to get the cheapest babygros h could find in newborn size as money was tight.
He came back with Forever Friends babygros that cost the same amount as a small mortgage.
He was so proud of the fact that he had a new baby daughter that all he had thought about was buying her the best babygros he could find! Grin

Myliferocks · 15/09/2012 23:05

Really need to check posts when I'm using my ipad!

Teeb · 15/09/2012 23:06

It seems alright really, he was excited and I think it's quite sweet he had the baby on his mind while he was out at the football.

In the scheme of things, £7 now is nothing. Wait until they are teenagers and need an iphone, ipad and ipod every other christmas.

Peeenut · 15/09/2012 23:12

Ahh, I was imagining some kind of muscle warming garment for under his footie kit Grin I did wonder about the summer comment, would he only wear the under garment with no shorts over?

Then read down and though he'd paid £7 for 3 and thought that wasnt terrible. Yes, I've been drinking.

So he's paid £21 for 3 baby bodysuits with a logo? Irritating, if you're being very money conscious. It is also sweet.

beanandspud · 15/09/2012 23:18

When DS was a few months old I remember DH coming back from a trip abroad with a lovely Kenzo shorts and t-shirt set. A few weeks later I found the receipt and realised that he'd spent ??? on it.

Whilst I cringe at the thought of spending so much money on something that was worn for such a short time, the fact is that he went out and bought something for our little boy thinking it was a nice thing to do. I couldn't be cross about it. I would suggest that you thank your DH and be glad that he wants to try to do the right thing - hundreds of fathers don't care.

NotGeoffVader · 15/09/2012 23:19

I'm guessing these are team logo'd bodysuits? I'd say expensive but nice as a one-off.
(most of DDs came from the charity shop)

avon01 · 15/09/2012 23:23

No. I wouldn't complain. It was a nice thing to do. Just thinking how much more you could get for £21 in supermarkets. Know i'm a tightwad.
