AIBU to cringe when I see Dog the bounty hunter

After the whole Andy and his space suit thread...
(loved it, now watch cbeebies more)
I'm quite worried what I'm letting myself in for, simply because it comes down to personal taste and not everyone will agree, BUT.,

Has anyone told Dog the bounty hunter on sky, that he seriously needs to look in the mirror!
I've only watched it a few times when OH is bored, and while I'm sure he's a lovely chap, his clothes are just a bit too much for me.

Personal taste about to get me into bother I fear!

Its all gone pear shaped though; Leland & Duane Lee, had a big fall out with Beth and quit in 2011 and in 2012 the show was cancelled. The rift still continues. I think it's a shame, Dog and Beth are both from another planet but they all seemed like a close family.

Ashamed to admit that I have every reason to strongly suspect my mum has a crush on Dog!

Dh and I were bored and watching re runs of it the other day. He was commenting on his sweet mullet they all defiantly stand out in the crowd, no wonder the criminals see them coming and they have to send in decoys. It's one weird TV show. The side of Hawaii that tourists don't get to see.

I'd have loved someone like Dog as my dad. Can you imagine bringing a potential boyfriend home! Mind you parent evenings with Beth would be cringeworthy.
Love the way he calls everyone 'My brother'. Dh looks at me with pity whenever I watch it.

Does anyone know how the 'racist' incident came about?

I know a telephone call he had with his son got leaked to the press...where Dog was unhappy his son was seeing a black woman and he used a derogatory/racist term about her.

But who taped the phone call in the first place and how did it wind up in the media?

he claims he uses the word nigger as a term to describe lots of people with nothing to do with race as its use in the prison system at that time was everyone was a nigger even if you were white.

his eldest son a drug addict had a gf who was trying to make dosh out of the family and was also a drug addict, dog had a 23 minute phone convo with his son that was recorded and a snippet of that call contained the words "shes bad news i dont want that nigger in my house" or words to that effect.this call was made after months of both of them hanging around trying to get something on dog and beth they could sell to the media.

even befor that incident dog has done a lot of charitable stuff for anti racist charities

the tape was made by eldest son travis. intentionally to sell to media he also hung onto the tape for a few months to get the money higher

Dog is classic Colorado white trash! I remember when the little town outside Denver where he's from was still kinda trashy. Parts of it still are, and Northglen, too, eeewww.

I used to love Dog.

My guilty daytime tv secret is Auction Hunters, bit like storage wars. I actually adore Allan. I sat watching it with my Dad this afternoon for far longer than is healthy.

My DH loves that Welsh. Apparently there is a new series of Storage Wars on now. It is very addictive. He also likes the Border Control imigration/customs in Australia stuff.

I went through a bit of obsession with Dog and Beth while I was on ml a few years back. I was constantly fixated by her bosoms and his hair. Loved the South Park version of Beth, made me pmsl.

I have also had a Dog the Bounty Hunter watching stage, as all true aficionados of trash TV must.

I'm glad I'm not alone in noticing Leland is a tad easy on the eye. Sometimes you wonder: is this person attractive, or do I just watch them on TV far too much.
