To be really upset?

Just waiting ti get in a busy train at New Street, standing to the side of the doors - big crowd! Lots of people slowly shuffling off the train, a lady getting off just barged in to me saying 'get out of the way stupid cow' i'm nit sure where else i could have stood - I said 'Excuse Me!' very loudly after her.

I'm really upset now, i'm a delicate flower, i feel all crumbly and anxious.

It's unjust! She was really smartly dressed too, and maybe in her 50's - she didn't look lke 'the type' i was so shocked.

what a twat, karma will bite her on the ass later.

ToothbrushThief · 13/09/2012 08:10

She'd had a bad day. Teenage son has been caught taking drugs and stealing from the school. Daugter is nasty to her whilst staying over at boyfriends telling b/fs mum what a cow her mother is. Her husband is playing away with his PA and the boiler broke that morning. Plus she fibroids and the period from hell.

It wasn't about you ! Think of it like that

GotMyGoat · 13/09/2012 08:11

Thank you - karma is my friend! I wouldn't dream of speaking to a stranger like that. All my british sensibilities are atrembling!

I agree with toothbrush. Her outburst was nothing to do with you and all about what she has going on in her own life. You never know what traumas people are carrying, she could be a delicate little wallflower too most of the time!

Forgive her, then put it out of your mind.

thebeesnees79 · 13/09/2012 08:18

how rude! stupid old cow, don't let it ruin your day Smile

treaclesoda · 13/09/2012 08:21

I would try not to be upset but to be honest I don't care how much crap people have going on in their lives, it doesn't excuse that sort of nastiness. I've dealt with some serious issues in my life, as have most people and I didn't take my stress it on random strangers.

MrsMiniversCharlady · 13/09/2012 08:21

Somebody like that is not a happy person. Pity her.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 13/09/2012 08:21

She is probably feeling sheepish about it and was just having a moment of too much stress, don't let it get YOU down.

:)

GotMyGoat · 13/09/2012 08:22

Toothbrush - almost thought that was a confession then!

Yes, she can't be having a happy day. Oh dear, I have to feel empathy for her now don't I? Grin

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 13/09/2012 08:22

It was not about you and all about her. Deep breaths and pity her like mrs said :)

GotMyGoat · 13/09/2012 08:25

It's ok, i'm off the train now. There will be tea at my desk with chocolate hobnobs and all will be well in the world.

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 13/09/2012 08:27

Bet that old cow won't have tea and choc hobnobs! Wink

MrsMiniversCharlady · 13/09/2012 08:58

Mmmm, chocolate hobnobs. There is no problem too big that can't be solved by chocolate hobnobs Grin

FutTheShuckUp · 13/09/2012 09:06

Sounds like a normal New Street Station occurence if im honest

Ephiny · 13/09/2012 11:28

Someone did this to me on the Tube the other day. It happens, no there's no excuse for it, but it's not worth getting upset over.

cheesesarnie · 13/09/2012 11:30

remember that you will always be a nicer person!

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 13/09/2012 11:48

Miserable cow! But you have to feel sorry for people like that, what a way to live...

Choccie hobnobs will make you feel better anyway Smile

GotMyGoat · 13/09/2012 11:56

Thank you, i'm quite over it now. Thanks for helping me through it Smile

I think commuters should vow to help each other out, let's make the commute a happy one ... Yay!

I think i have been that woman last week Blush I had a crap day, the train doors opened to a bunch a tourists were trying to push on and i couldn't get off the train so i shouted MOVE. I'm sorry i panic in crowds.

GotMyGoat · 13/09/2012 16:42

On tiny dancing, that's fine, i was politely standing to the side of the doors - behind lots of others doing the same.

I think she picked on me as i'm small.

OP posts:
eggsandwich · 13/09/2012 16:46

I would of said sarcastically "I'm sorry was I in your way" firm believer of what comes around goes around.

TinyDancingHoofer · 13/09/2012 18:30

Oh, then she was being really awful even a bad day doesn't excuse abusing innocent bystanders.
I'm small too Smile

sensesworkingovertime · 13/09/2012 20:12

I'd be angry rather than upset but then (hopefully) my personal life motto that goes - 'I'm glad I'm not like YOU' (i.e the stupid cow on the train in this instance) will take over my brain and I would become all calm again.

Failing that, if you've got a dart board, stick a little drawing or descripton of her on it and chuck darts to your hearts content.

GotMyGoat · 14/09/2012 21:37

Oh just checked back, didn't mean to snub you senses - I will bear the dartboard in mind - perhaps will need in future. Luckily everybody was nice on the train today.

xelliex · 14/09/2012 22:12

This sort of thing happens to me all the time, random strangers being rude.
I'm also small
