I just can't fit everything in, single parent with 2 dd's full time job and college course...I'm so stressed and falling behind with all my personal admin, there are letters lying all over the place I need to deal with and as it's my least favourite job they get left and left and as I am self employed I have a whole lot of admin to do for that as well and I am so behind with it all the thought of even looking at it is making me feel sick...

YANBU really, there's only so much you can do in a day and if what you need to do exceeds that then it won't get done.

It sounds like you need to sit down with a cup of tea and organise yourself. Can you face that tonight, or do you think you need to shut the door on it for now, have an early night and tackle it tomorrow?

Sorry that should be YABU!

Sounds to me that you've picked the wrong time to do a college course! Is it really necessary, because it probably takes up a lot of time and dropping it would free up time quickly.

well tonight I still have to hoover and hang up washing then run bath and go through dd's hair with nit comb because they are doing the rounds, Im just having a 10 minute break...

Forget the hoovering and washing, leave them for now. Do your DD's nits (blasted nits!!) send her off to bed and tackle three pieces of paperwork.

Washing and hoovering can be dealt with tomorrow.

How about planning in a bit of a different way to reduce the panicked feeling? Could you manage an hour a night every night this week once the DD's are in bed?

Start tonight with just getting everything in subject and date order using: oldest at the bottom and newest at the top. Don't do anything else tonight.

Tomorrow night, read the latest letter / email etc., in each pile - it may be that you won't have to look at the older items as a result. Prioritise using the classic management order of:

Urgent & important
Important
Not urgent
Not important

Wednesday - start to action as required until done.

Baby steps can really help. The other reason I recommend starting with the newest items first means you essentially catch up faster as your 'urgent & important' list then won't get any bigger (i.e. nothing else will go on there as the new stuff is getting done too), IYKWIM.

Hope you manage to get over the hurdle soon. Oh and YANBU - it can be done, it just isn't even vaguely easy with everything else you have on your plate.
