To think that the word "only" should not go with £799 for a pushchair

I know it's a bugaboo and ours has been very good value as we bought the frog for our first and it's still goung string for our third dd but it's still expensive.

We have loads of these mums who spend all their time on their buy and sell pages buying different buggies.craziness.

There is nothing like a maclaren ir obaby type stroller to me.Easy to push, light etc.Great if you do lots of walking, pilublic transport, small spaces.Easy to fold, easy to carry, easy to store.Better when at nursery without a million massive ones everyone and cheap! Most people come round to them in the end even after having a top of the range number ime.

I think whether 'only' is acceptable depends on how much it usually is. I've got no idea, but if that particular pushchair normally retails at £1000, then 'only' £799 sounds fair enough as a phrase to me.

Whether spending that much on a pushchair is reasonable is a different question entirely, but as far as I'm concerned if people can afford it and choose to do so, fair enough. It's no different to spending loads on a posh car, or designer handbag, or holiday abroad when you could stay in a caravan in Norfolk or whatever.

Also depends on where you live.Be ridiculous having a stokke here.So many huge hills and massive inclines you would do you both an injury.

It's an iCandy strawberry with one handed fold and easy upright storage btw strokes pushchair

I was put off the bee when I realised it had no sides. Where is the child meant to put all its bottles/cuppies/toys/random crap?

Also I saw someone pushing one down a subway and the front wheels were in a dreadful state - rattling all over the place, there was clearly something wrong with it but we had a brief conversation and she said they said it just does that and can't be fixed.

I agree a maclaren is the way we all go in the end, and it's fine after about a year, but before that I don't think it's nearly comfortable enough - and the baby is often slumped in it, while with a more padded, bigger pushchair/pram, you can raise the backrest a bit without the baby falling over as there is more stuff to support them.

Only?

Mind you, my MIL was horrified at how much I paid for mine. (£179 for a new Bebe Confort Loola) And she hated it! She said it was awful to push. But I always thought it was perfect, and found design faults with every other model suggested.

Having twins, I feel quite restricted with regards to pushchairs, but I have extensively tested the doubles market Grin 4 out of my 5 pushchairs have been second hand and I'm actually seriously considering buying a new version of the latest one I have (Baby Jogger City Mini Double) which was a bargain at £50 but I'd like a different colour. It was only after my twins were born that I realised it IS ok to put them in second hand stuff haha Wink

Bugaboos though, I know people love them but honestly, I can't see why. I tested a Donkey for 24 hours for a magazine and absolutely despised it. But then again, a lot of people don't like my oBaby Zoom which I am absolutely in love with. Different buggies are perfect for different situations which is why I have three two on the go.
