I wasn't serious about those! (Imagine the great aunt's faces?!) But glad they're in the list - really good fun to dance to.

Honestly, I think your wedding sounds brilliant. So much fun.

HarlettOScara · 10/09/2012 15:07

I went to a wedding where the first dance was The Timewarp.

Mind you, the second song was Ace of Spades by Motörhead Grin

My friend walked down the aisle to this, was very funny. And they had an amazing star wars cake.

Sorry to harp on about Bruno, but another part I hate is the line "I think I wanna marry you" How irritating, he THINKS he wants to marry you, he should KNOW he wants to. I can bet he wouldn't ever catch a grenade or throw himself in front of a train for a girl either. Ugh!

Walking down the aisle songs are one thing, but first dance ones pose a whole new problem. I get a bit embarrassed at being the centre of attention and am not usually a girly dress wearing person, so when I'm dancing I'd rather be embarrassed during a fun song to throw some shapes to, than be embarrassed and also have to gaze lovingly into DPs eyes. Neither of us are very co-ordinated!

DP claims our first dance song will be an italian house hit from the 90s which was the song playing in the club where we first met (posting which song could out me, but suffice to say it's entirely inappropriate and has a particular rude lyric!)

I really like You're So Cool, the theme from True Romance. No lyrics, but lovely melody and plinky plonky sound. It could be a great choice, or disaster (due to having no lyrics it may seem like it's going on forever.) Might be better for the aisle walk actually. Bit cheesy but when we first started going out, we quoted True Romance to each other quite a lot.

Smile

P.S. perfectstorm - The Aimee Mann song, error! error!

ErrorError · 10/09/2012 18:08

N.B. Middle slower part of You're so cool is better for aisle walking, or you could end up frog marching. I would want to milk my entrance as much as poss!

PragmaticWench · 10/09/2012 18:26

I walked down the aisle to The Final Countdown. My mother was horrified Grin but it was exactly right for me and my DH loved it. I had to use some software to cut and paste the start and end of the track together but it was worth the effort.

Go for it if it's right for you, nothing worse than another wedding with the same old music as all the rest.

bogeyface · 10/09/2012 18:31

You could have "Dammit Janet" as you walk out of the church!

ErrorError · 10/09/2012 18:43

Made even better if your name is actually Janet Grin

FiftyFootQueenie · 10/09/2012 18:48

Do it Smile

I'm thinking of walking up the aisle to a piano version of the Dr Who theme. My OH is a huge fan and it will make him and our guests smile.

FadingAwayToAHippo · 10/09/2012 19:37

He's also a huge doctor who fan too. He's a big geeky! :)

So we decided on:

Imperial March for flowner girls (including our two DDs) and page boys

Then this for bridal party

Then Come What May, sang by lovely friend for signing of the register! :)

My friend has a cake making business, and she did a World of Warcraft wedding cake last week. It was magnificent Grin

SomebodySaveMe · 18/09/2012 11:54

I want to walk down the aisle to Blondie I Touch Myself. Purely to see people's faces.

DP wants Kelis I hate you so much right now.

We are not marrying!

helenthemadex · 18/09/2012 12:00

had I known then what I know now would have been most appropriate Grin
