yanbu really tedious

SassySpice · 09/09/2012 21:58

How chummy, next it's Jay Z guesting. Will Gwynnie do some backing vocals?

peanutMD · 09/09/2012 21:58

Was literally just about to say ooh there gone but then they reappear, gah!

Daft question but I thought the London ceremonies were to showcase british talent, so why do w have Rihanna and Jay-Z?

peanutMD · 09/09/2012 22:00

Oh just thought if Jay-Z ifs appearing, presumably we will be hearing the tripe that is umbrella.

bisjaralympics · 09/09/2012 22:01

I switched over when they appeared. Over the last couple of weeks I kept putting closing ceremony tickets in my shopping list and then taking them out when payment info came up. Glad I did as I think they are truly shit.

PingPongPom · 09/09/2012 22:01

YANBU but At least it's not Paul McCartney.

Ooh they might just have stfu, ad break welcome relief!

lapsedorienteerer · 09/09/2012 22:01

lifeisfuckinggreat · 09/09/2012 22:01

GetDownNesbitt · 09/09/2012 22:03

Just. fuck. off.

Paul McCartney would be a welcome relief, to be honest....

lifeisfuckinggreat · 09/09/2012 22:03

PingPongPom so right, thank fuck it isn't Macca or Elton.

SassySpice · 09/09/2012 22:05

peanutMD · 09/09/2012 22:07

Well the Brazilian national anthem is cheery :o

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2012 22:08

It is very jolly isn't it peanut.
So much better than our dirge.

MyOrangeDogShitsGoldMoney · 09/09/2012 22:09

It's just going to be Coldplay with a few Special Guests all night isn't it?

That's what all the write ups have said.

lifeisfuckinggreat · 09/09/2012 22:10

DH just had to explain why they were playing the Brazillian National anthem Confused Blush

Prefer this music

peanutMD · 09/09/2012 22:10

Oh good don't say that, when dues it finish?

Brazilian presentation probably kicks GB's ass out the window lol

peanutMD · 09/09/2012 22:11

Are we supposed to believe he's singing?

madwomanintheattic · 09/09/2012 22:11

Dd2(who has cp and has been looking forward to the ceremony all week) gave up and wandered off an hour ago.

It's a Coldplay concert with occasional interludes, isn't it? Dh is watching, but I can't bear it.

YY brazil have put us to shame

OP posts:
peanutMD · 09/09/2012 22:16

Definitely, the annoying part is we will dampen the mood by chucking in ColdPlay again!

MyOrangeDogShitsGoldMoney · 09/09/2012 22:18

Everything I've seen about it in the build up has said the organiser didn't want it to be loads of different bands and has planned it all around Coldplay being the main thing.

It's been said a lot to be honest, surprised anyone didn't know.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 09/09/2012 22:18

I'm quite enjoying it actually. [weirdo emoticon] the Brazilian bit was a bit dull, love their anthem though.

PfftTheMagicDraco · 09/09/2012 22:19

If Coldplay played at all, it was for too bloody long.

lifeisfuckinggreat · 09/09/2012 22:22

Ah MyOrangeDog I have the perfect excuse, I don't live in the Uk.

They seemed like a time filler to me. I like the stuff that makes me cry or makes me want to dance, even better if it's a combo of the two.
