To be sick of complaints about Facebook

Sallyingforth · 08/09/2012 18:43

Currently three of them on the first page of AIBU.

If you don't like something on FB, complain on FB - not here where it won't make the slightest difference.

FB is optional, it's not an essential element of life and you can manage perfectly well without it. Everyone did so a few years ago, and many of us happily still do.

If you choose to use FB and expose your life to it then you'll just have to accept the way it works.

OP I agree with you.

It annoys me when people say FB is responsible for relationship break ups.

FB doesn't make people cheat. If someone is going to cheat they will. FB is just another way to do it.

Ha ha. I get the impression the OP may not be impressed that her thread has turned into another thread complaining about Facebook. Maybe like OP says if you don't like Facebook, complain to them and not on here.

TudorJess · 09/09/2012 10:46

I think it's a problem when people assume everyone is on Facebook. We're not.

dysfunctionalme · 09/09/2012 11:58

So we can use fb but we can't moan about it. Is that the rule?

Sallyingforth · 09/09/2012 12:06

Thanks for all the comments. I'll try and answer some. Yes this was meant to be about FB threads not FB itself.
The difference from other complaints is that there are just so many about FB. I didn't know there was a separate section for them but perhaps they could be better directed there.
Comparison with the Mail isn't right. You have to positively choose to go there rather than having it thrust at you here.

I don't want anything to do with it either. I'm just not interested and detest all that fakey friendy online drivel.

But it seems hard to avoid it you have teens and I'm trying to get to grips with it because dd has been told in no uncertain terms how odd she seems not being on it when everyone else is. FgsHmm

But it does seem to be used by some cowardly people who like to hide behind a screen to say spiteful things.

What does facebook do about that? Is it moderated? Not much from what I can gather.

ravenAK · 09/09/2012 21:48

It's not much moderated, which is a good thing. If someone is hell bent on being a knob (& yes, there are some right keyboard warriors out there), you can block them, at which point they become invisible.
