here

or similar. Do they work? Is it a con?

I think all those herbal things are a con.

The only way (imo) to reduce the size of your breasts is to lose weight or have surgery (if you don't need to lose weight)

RhinestoneCowgirl · 06/09/2012 23:07

If it does work, then it's effectively an unregulated drug and I wouldn't be keen.

Chances are it's just herbal woo and won't work, in which case a con...

(and you have my sympathies, I have a stupidly large bosom and sometimes think longingly of reduction surgery)

FadingAwayToAHippo · 06/09/2012 23:08

I thought that Sad

I have been losing weight but not from that area unfortunately. I'm getting married in 5 weeks and my breasts will be meeting the priest a good 5 minutes before me.

We are a family of big bosomed ladies!

I had surgery. Best thing I ever did. I wasn't very big but saggy, went from a 34DD to a 34B. Only needed a few days bed rest and then could go back to work. Not very painful. No regrets at all, I wish i had done it 10 years ago.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 07/09/2012 06:17

I'm having reduction once I have finished feeding dc3 due next year. My
Norks are pretty big at a 36hh and since they seem to increase in size and sagginess after each child I'm going for it. It's not just vanity and hating my UNi boob look, I find it very difficult to get bras to fit as I have an odd shaped rib cage and spend most of my day stuffing bits of tissue down the sides to stop the wires rubbing at the sides and the front. It gets very sore particularly when it's hot. Also would like to be able to buy pretty bras and not something that looks like scaffolding!

FadingAwayToAHippo · 07/09/2012 07:16

Yup between 36h and 34j here, I do get back pain, struggle to exercise, have to wear two sports bra, but gp has said I'd need to lose weight before they would consider anything. I was told about 3 stone, I've lost a stone and a half but my biggest concern just now is vanity and my wedding dress.

Hopefully I'll manage to lose extra stone and half and get of these!

Fed both dds for 6 mOnths and 5 months and yes, they got bigger each time! Sad

Did/are you both having private surgery?

OP posts:
shrimponastick · 07/09/2012 07:19

Nah. Don't waste your money.

it's either lose weight to see if that does it, or surgery.

I don't have huuuuge boobs, but at the moment am a bit fat so my boobs are bigger. If when I lose some weight they will be more comfortably sized. However I have found that as I get older they are getting bigger anyway?? hormonal?? MyDM has much bigger norkage than she did ten years ago.

theodorakis · 07/09/2012 08:32

My surgery wasn't very expensive, about 4,000 pounds including all xrays and blood tests etc and the anaesthesiologist and 3 nights in a clinic.

spoonsspoonsspoons · 07/09/2012 08:50

Unfortunately ime if your breasts are the first place you put weight on they're also the last place you lose weight from. Sad

theodorakis · 07/09/2012 10:43

I went for the simplest surgery with the biggest scars, I am not a model so don't really see the problem with a few scars. I can't tell you how lovely it is to be able to put on a bra without having to do the "manual lift and stuff" that i used to have to do, whatever the size of the bra it never fitted. Now I pick up whatever I like and just buy without trying. It also makes you look so much thinner because there is a whole section of my truck that was obscured by the saggy mounds. I don't care if it's vain, I figure I have, at best another 30 years of valuable life, anything that makes me feel happy is worth every penny.

fluffyraggies · 07/09/2012 11:05

I have really mixed feelings about my boobs. I'm 34 FF. I'm not over weight but there's loads of things i wont wear because anything which falls from the bust at all makes me look frumpy and like i'm wearing a tent and am either pregnant or overweight :(

So i tend to wear clingy tops which go in under my bust and show i have a waist and a ribcage. The down side of this is that makes my boobs my main feature. Some days i can handle it, and think 'got it flaunt it'. Other days i think seriously about saving for surgery.

glamourcats · 07/09/2012 11:37

I had a breast reduction on the NHS about 5 years ago and for nearly two years it was such a relief to be able to wear pretty bras and nice tops, and not have men gawping at my chest. But since having my two children my boobs have grown back even bigger so now I have massive boobs AND scars Sad

2rebecca · 07/09/2012 12:59

I agree re herbal supplements being very unlikely to work as fat on your breasts is like fat elsewhere so a drug herbal or orthodox couldn't target your breasts. Get your BMI down to 20-25 and preferable below 23 to lose fat generally and do upper body toning exercises. If you still have big breasts and have finished having kids then go for reduction surgery. To get it on the NHS in our area your BMI has to be below 25 and then you have to see a psychologist.

Doha · 07/09/2012 22:44

DD is 17 and 32H and is miserable. She is not overweight and looks longingly at the pretty bras in the shops that her friends are able to buy. Breast reductin has been discussed but does anyone know the age it would be considered. I am thinking we will have to go private but l think it may be worth it

FadingAwayToAHippo · 07/09/2012 23:13

Thanks for replies, I think I had got used to the idea of big breasts and all the pros (??) and cons but the issues with my wedding dress are really getting to me. I should have lost the weight sooner to be honest but always had excuses!

I have 2dds and breastfed both and although not planning anymore I'm not ruling it out so wouldn't like to do anything drastic until we've decided on no more kids.

doha I used to work with a girl who was getting a private reduction at 18 as her GP told her to qualify on NHS she needed to lose a stone, she was very very petite with massive boobs, ridiculous really to ask her to lose anymore. This was about 8 years ago so age limitation have changed.
