To think, looking at the state of me right now that it really MUST be all downhill after 40? And to ask for you over 40s to cheer me up?

Im 40 tomorrow....I have an infected burn on my arm, a boil on my neck and a sore infected looking throat.

I think the boil is due to stress.

My face looks white and tired and we have no plans to do anything special as we're short of money due to DH's hours being cut and a number of my clients not paying me.

I DO have a lovely necklace on the way from DH but it's not going to be here on time and DH is grumpy.

He's grumpy because he's not got extra to treat me by taking me out or something.

I could cry. I feel like shit and I look like shit too. Is it because I;m 40 or because it's just bad luck?

I loved turning 40. I grew my hair and then started to lose weight at 42 and exercising at 43. Now a size 10 instead of a frumpy size 16/18 I was in my 30's.
Buy yourself some small treats such as candles, bath products and wine and try and enjoy your day.

Happy birthday for yesterday! I had a browse if your pics....you look great. Your hair looks amazing in the dark pic, with the drink, though.

These are hard, hard times for many people. Nothing's forever.

I'm 50 in a couple of weeks and believe me, there are days I feel fantastic and days I look like crap. But then, there were days like that in my twenties, thirties and forties!
