tbh who cares - tell us what YOU think about the dress

I agree and I don't think many DH's give great feedback on clothes anyway - would be more impressed if a female friend liked it.

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 15:45

does it show tits? yes. then the h likes it.

its so pathetic

mind you also bad is when you like something and you read a review form someone like "JollyGran" in the 60 - 70 age bracket.

Ah, do you mean with clothes? I'd hate that! I have been guilty when reviewing books though to mention that while it wasn't my cup of tea DH loved it or the same in reverse. That happened with Emma Donaghue's 'Room' - I MADE the poor sod read it and it really upset him Blush

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/09/2012 15:50

Oh yes that destroys it for me on boden - I liked the leopard wedges until I read the reviews.

Same as if you buy something and then see bloody lorraine kelly wearing it - she so ruined a whistles cardigan for me.

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 15:51

or someone on chuffing eastenders - even if it was the "stylish' one.
so all in all dont say anything about oyur h OR ( and this comes up all the time)
" you can dress it up or dress it down".

all of marks and spencer's website is based on that comment

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/09/2012 15:54

Oh yes just add heels and a statement necklace and some red lipstick and you can go from desk to dinner.

Well you could but you'll just look like you shoved on some lipstick, changed your shoes and put on a necklace - it will fool no-one.

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 15:54

this is also quite spooky

"I bought this dress as a gift for my partner some time ago and she loves it. It is very versatile, you can dress it up or down easily depending on the occasion. One of the nicest dresses from L.K. Bennett."

Its a bit Sleeping with the Enemy - darling wife you'll wear this dress with these shoes . . .

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 15:57

not only did he buy but he came back on to review.

I hate that on a side note dd saw lola wearing something she has on enders she put it out in the bin she hates lola , she is 14 so she is allowed to be unreasonable i suppose

CoolaSchmoola · 02/09/2012 16:29

I bought a lovely top a couple of years ago, was designer and pretty expensive.

I'd worn it once when Libby (the geeky one who used to be in Eastenders!) tipped up to Syed and whatsername's wedding.

TOTALLY ruined it for me - and the thing that really gripped my shit was there was no way that character could have afforded that particular top, and more to the point as she was saving for uni there's no way she would have bought it even if she could!

I haven't worn it since as it ruined it for me - it changed how I felt about what had the potential to be a long term favourite. And I know I'm BU - but hey ho!

As for reviews - yes, irritating.

Mrsjay · 02/09/2012 16:32

Ruth on this morning Had the same dress I had worn to a wedding a few months ago I was Confused as I thought it was wedding appropriate and not telly apprpriate then thought ooo i wonder if she bought it int he sale like I did Grin

Birdsgottafly · 02/09/2012 16:34

You see it on here also, though.

Especially if it is about an Actresses appearance, body size, personal grooming, porn or sex toys, as though he speaks for all men and a man's opinion counts more than the twenty odd female posters.

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 16:36

Yes or maybe on a legal issue "I asked h and he said ". You can imagine him pronouncing from the carving chair at the dining table. ;)

ThePigOnTheWall · 02/09/2012 16:37

bonnyday how do you know the dress was bought by a man?

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 16:37

Yes. Could be female partner I suppose. Just sounds suitable make patronizing. ;)

OP posts:
TerraNotSoFirma · 02/09/2012 16:39

bonnyday I bet it was prince William that left that L.K Bennett review. :)

ThePigOnTheWall · 02/09/2012 16:43

Sorry to burst your outrage bubble Wink

pootlepootle · 02/09/2012 16:48

I get this at work with customer service. "i've shown [said item] to my husband and he agrees that it would be better if.... happened".

oh right, well if a man agreed with you it must be right and i will now take you complaint far more seriously.

BonnyDay · 02/09/2012 16:56

He probably agrees to get her to stop going ON
