To think the word 'Amazing' is over used?

That's it really. I know there are more important things to worry about but I can't help but cringe slightly when someone calls something/someone amazing when it's not necessarily so.

I feel it's a bit over the top and sometimes a little patronising. And then of course when something is truly amazing, the word 'amazing' doesn't really cover it anymore!

I heard someone on radio one describing her poncho as 'amazing' last week. I just don't see how that could ever be possible.

I don't get what 'amazeballs' means either. What would balls need to look like for them to be amazing? I'm guessing neon and glow in the dark, perhaps each one wearing a jaunty hat.

Ooo I want a pair of those
