Morning all!
Not an aibu but posting on here as there is more traffic and need advice quickly as im due in at work soon.
Basically its pay day today and also my last day at this job and I haven't been paid!
This has never happened before and there is no reason I shouldn't of been paid i.e breech of contract etc etc.
I am going to ring head office once I arrive at work but just wanted to know where I and they stand legally on this.

Thanks in advance.

They should pay you. Maybe there's been a banking glitch? Check and see if others have been paid first.

One time at my work there was a backs problem, and people didn't get paid till later in the day.

JeezyPeeps · 31/08/2012 07:47

Bacs I mean!

Whatever way, stay calm and nice and people will be more inclined to help you.

larks35 · 31/08/2012 07:47

My bacs payments don't usually appear on my online statement until after 8 or 9am. Could it be that you are just checking too early? If not then speak to payroll and HR when you get into work.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 31/08/2012 07:47

Have you spoken to your bank?

ShiftyFades · 31/08/2012 07:50

I echo that. Stay calm!!

Firstly, ask colleagues to confirm their pay is in their bank.
Secondly, ring your bank and see if they've delayed the credit to your account.
If no problem there and bank confirms no payment received THEN ring HR / pay department.

Stay calm and polite. Experience shows that if you are nice they will bend over backwards to help you.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Calm down and speak to your employer when you get to work. If you are being processed as a leaver this month, then there is every chance that your pay has been held up while they make sure you are paid correctly. Just speak to your manager or personnel department when you get in.

I worked in payroll for many many years, and it is standard practice for leavers pay to be separate from the standard payrun.

Blurry29 · 31/08/2012 07:58

Don't think it will help but I experienced this with my last employer, try told me it was normal practice that "leavers" received their pay the day after the rest of the company, this was to allow any expenses etc to be paid

To be fair I was paid the following day so they stuck to their word

Good luck. I hope you get it sorted x

Thankyou for the replies and sorry for my late response!
I phoned head office when I got to work and it was all resolved within an hour.
I think I just panicked and over reacted as I have/had a lot of bills coming out and was worried about bank charges.
Thanks again though.
