I had to tonight because my head was in a bad place and i nearly complained about someone who was only doing their job to the best of their abilities and thanks to mumsnetters did not make a twat of myself by filing a complaint. Now I see another lass who realised SWBU, but still getting harrassed!! Now that is BU. How many folk on AIBU are willing to suggestions really, and admit BU? Ok some will say YANBU but those threads where mostly everyone says YABU, do they admit/take advice or do they just post for effect and dont care and do it anyway? BYW i think i may have addiction to mumsnet, help!!

I have done it a couple of times and i think my 'motivation' [kate winslet voice] was to start a good conversation!? well, one that would have really interested ME at that point!

DioneTheDiabolist · 31/08/2012 21:23

I have admitted to BU on one thread about BF and DS. I took onboard what the lovely, wise posters on MN said and am glad I did.

I took a bit of a pasting the first time I used it. It was on the topic of using male prostitutes. It didn't bother me though. Different strokes and all that.Grin

I think it's pretty obvious on the whole who are the "genuinely don't know if they're BU" OPs, and who are the "I know I am NBU, and I want you lot to back me up" OPs.

The latter group can then be subdivided into the "willing to listen to reason and adjust my views" brigade and the "nothing anyone can say will change my mind so why I posted in AIBU is a total mystery" lot.

Posting to back up an argument you've had with someone could be one reason for not accepting the Vipers Judgement FJ?

Or to back up prejudices you weren't aware were prejudices?

If it's something the OP feels is important to them as a person, it must hurt to be told they're wrong - and then if odd, weird, abusive, spiteful, shouldn't have had children in the first place etc are added into the mix, I'd probably bite back as well.

Will anyone admit to starting, what could be described as, a trolling thread?

I don't mean they are out to troll people, but like Olympia says, starting a thread they know full well will kick off a bunfight?

What did you get out of it? You said conversation Olympia, so it doesn't necessarily have to be for negative reasons.

I'd like to start a thread to see what proportion of MNs admit to starting one like that, but that'd be a trolling thread in itself wouldn't it? Grin

I never do. Not truly. If I truly think I'm in my rights to think what I think I would never post in AIBU, because I'm glad to live with my delusions, better than getting roasted by you lot.

I only ask in AIBU if I genuinely don't know what to think.

yeah it's a fox hunt, and sometimes the fox gets away with its life!

My male prostitution thread was started in part for bunfight discussion reasons. I say in part because I had already checked the net for local escorts (too expensive and shoddy looking goods).Blush

However I was a bit Shock at those who insisted that IWBU but posted me links for Yoni Massage.
