so the previous people from our house moved out and left the cat! Next door have apparently taken it on but it now sits outside my house every night and cries for food and to be let in. It obviously still thinks it lives in the house and its very horrid hearing it crying all the time. When you leave for work in the morning you have to be careful not to open the door too wide or it tries to get in. Im not really keen on cats anyway which doesnt help and I dont really want to fall out with the neighbours over a cat. I have mentioned it keeps trying to get into our house but they dont seem that worried.

Im not sure where the previous tenants have gone as its a housing ass property . When I moved in the neighbours told me they had taken the cat in but now Im not so sure and I dont want to get too involved with them as they seem a bit odd anyway. The mum left the house this morning for example and saw me battling trying to stop the cat from nipping in the frt door and didnt say a word! Hmmmm .

Bit of an overreaction when you don't mention if the neighbours are actually neglecting the cat! Many cats who have access via cat flaps or are just let out don't come back in at night. A cat might quite naturally maiow to be let back into their old home. I hardly think either matter entails calling the animal welfare agencies!

Different if its losing weight and obviously not being fed. Many cats live outdoors. Personally I think keeping them permanently indoors is cruel.

You might find it irritating, but humans don't exist solely on this planet and how much can a cat miawing really disturb someone?

geegee888 - its mainly upsetting as it sounds like its hungry. Bit of an over reaction on your part Id say?
