my cat likes rabbit heads- leaving the rest intact in the porch.Angry

oh and the odd rat- country living!

BadgersRetreat · 29/08/2012 21:22

mine is especially partial to mint dental floss

lurkedtoolong · 29/08/2012 21:24

My boy likes sponge cake and wotsits and anything else the little sod can scrounge.

Catsmamma · 29/08/2012 21:31

my first cat boy would steal mushrooms and eat them.

the second could often be found face down in a bowl of cabbage, ...raw or cooked, no apparent preference, he would also harrass the living daylights out of me for a bit of melon if there was one in the house.

Current cats ....Oscar and Faerie are fairly normal but Reuben is just weird....he adores all green veg, eats peas and beans, fresh frozen or in the pod. He will appear from nowhere if you open a tin of baked beans and will drink the bean juice. ANd he cries piteously if no one will hand feed him bits of sweetcorn.

He also likes chickpeas

And he will eat from the dog bowls while the dogs are eating....I have two ginormous GSDs, one of who will sit and wait till Reuben has finished, the other one just eats all the quicker in case he has to share too much.

And he eats the fairy circle mushrooms that grow on the lawn. Dude

BigRedIndiaRubberBall · 29/08/2012 21:34

Our family cat would lick all the tomato sauce off tinned sardines, then leave the fish. Daft thing.

Catsmamma · 29/08/2012 21:34

oh and second cat once ate all the chillies from a plant I had grown from seed...must have been about eight or nine. No apparent ill effects either.

CheerMum · 29/08/2012 21:38

My dd's kitten likes to eat my leg.
My kitten likes to eat flies.
Not sure which is worse.

catsrus · 29/08/2012 21:41

lol at chillicat Grin we had a bread addict, would practically snatch a slice from your hand if you didn't give her a bit, we had a sweetcorn addict too - that seems to be a common one on here Confused and another that was very keen on rice. The sweetcorn addict also loved pizza Shock

Jux · 29/08/2012 21:45

I had a cat once who loved anything with tomato and basil in. Another one would eat cold potatoes and peas. One of our childhood cats lurved chocolate. One of our current cats will eat noodles, prefers it if you drop them on her nose!

We call flies and other insects Flying Biscuits, as the cats love them.

All my cats, throughput my 50-odd years, love cake.

Catsmamma · 29/08/2012 21:47

that's faerie's foible....eating flies! I'd blocked that out of my mind

She is so dainty and refined and well mannered but she is like an addict missing her fix if she hears a fly against the window, munchitty crunchitty.

they sound surprisingly crispy.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 29/08/2012 21:48

One of mine likes potato peelings. He'll sit at my feet ever time the peeler comes out hoping that some will drop to the floor. He even fished some out the bin the other night. Leave a roast chicken on the kitchen counter - safe!

TheHeirOfSlytherin · 29/08/2012 21:50

This thread reads like a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans Grin

We give our cat any leftover meat from our meals as a treat... But she only likes it if it's raw or rotten. Preferably both. She has gone through the bin before now to get at the goodies. Envy

juniper904 · 29/08/2012 21:51

My late cat loved salt and vinegar pringles. She would be by my side within seconds of that trademark 'pop'!

My other cat loves celery and peas. Daft animals, all of them.

feralgirl · 29/08/2012 21:58

I had a cat once who would stand up on his hind legs to swipe carrot cake out of your hand. He loved crisps as well come to think of it. And another who got herself drunk eating brandy butter and christmas pudding.

They are bizarre.

whojamaflip · 29/08/2012 22:26

Oh my old girl that we lost last year would have killed for a coconut ring biscuit - not interested in any other kind just coconut rings!

MadamFolly · 29/08/2012 22:26

My cat tends to leave veg but any dairy products, especially cheese are like crack for her. She also loves all sauces including soup. If its liquid or gooey human food she will eat it.

redpanda13 · 29/08/2012 23:59

My cat likes plastic bags (luckily the supermarket swaps our bags for life even when covered in hundreds of tiny teethmarks), dish sponges, spaghetti, noodles, cereal, curry, cake, rice, crisps and we can never have a plant or flowers in the house. Anything he cannot finish or manage he will give to the dog.
He is a Siamese so very skinny. It is not fair he can eat all day long and never gains weight.

NasalCrayon · 30/08/2012 00:07

I have two cats, one is so fussy that she will pick through her dry food to only eat certain coloured biscuits. The other will eat literally anything, baked beans, scrambled eggs, cheese, cake, pasta. His favourite is chips but he will carry one around for hours before eventually deciding to eat it Hmm

dottyspotty2 · 30/08/2012 00:14

My 16 week old kitten is a hoover anything he sees is gone.

Glittertwins · 30/08/2012 06:16

One of ours is a dustbin. Chocolate ice cream from the sides of the empty tub, cheddar, breadsticks, kettle chips, prawn crackers, cereals, curry as well as anything off our plates if left unattended.

Mrsjay · 30/08/2012 09:41

Mine used to like cheese and onion crisps quavers and ice cream , she also was partial to mice rats baby birds rabbits HUGE seagulls , but wouldn't eat cat meat we had to put her on dry food , probably to full of mice

EasilyBored · 30/08/2012 09:46

Mine likes frozen peas, peppers, cheese, any kind of meat and he goes mental for tuna. It's like kitty crack.

He also loves pigeons, magpies and mice. He has also recently taken to chasing squirrels. Sigh.

Astr0naut · 30/08/2012 09:47

Pesto. Considering he was found on a building site, he has very middle class tastes.

EasilyBored · 30/08/2012 09:49

Does anyne els ehave a cat that snubs food like smoked salmon an prawns? He looks at me like I've put shit in his bowl if I give him either of those.

Mrsjay · 30/08/2012 09:51

DH fishes we dont really like fish that often, we once gave jay cat fresh caught trout and yes she looked as if we have shit in her bowl she licked it and wandered off , probably trying to find quavers,
