My 8 year old has never seen it and they're both watching it. Will it give the little one nightmares?

They're preparing to behead their baby sibling now....need answers fast! DD seem both to be watching it with faces like Shock this and Grin that too.

I can't remember anything particularly gross in there but it's been a while.

NCForNow · 29/08/2012 15:42

ok...encouraging...

It's the one where they go to summer cmap if I remember rightly

NiniLegsInTheAir · 29/08/2012 15:43

Yes! Love love love that film Grin

SecretNutellaMedallist · 29/08/2012 15:44

the nanny gets electrocuted near the end!

NCForNow · 29/08/2012 15:45

So 4 is ok? Electrocution notwithstanding?

Watched this the other day, think it's fairly kid friendly.

DS has seen it and been fine. But he's watched all sorts of things and been fine; and then sometimes gone a bit funny about them afterwards (Coraline, for example). He was more ghoulish when he was 3 and then developed a bit of a fear thingy when he turned 4 - although I don't know if that's because of a better understanding or just because the monkey in Toy Story 3 put the wind up him and made him realise that scary things can happen on films.

But he was still fine with Addams Family Values. :)

Good! My DD who is 8 has been slow to get into films...she's only just watched what are staples for other kids. So it's nice to see her enjoying this.

DD has been watching it since last year. She's now 5. I loved it as a kid and so does DD. Funny how it's not until you're an adult you laugh at how funny it really is.

My 5 year old has a new baby brother so I didn't let him watch it - didn't want him getting ideas!

sparkle12mar08 · 29/08/2012 17:53

I know I'm late to this but there's not a cat in hell's chance I'd let my 4yo, or 6yo for that matter, watch it. Absolutely not suitable, sorry! It's a PG-13 in the States and for good reason, it's very dark and macabre and does not have the madcap humour of the first one.

NCForNow · 29/08/2012 18:26

Ah. Wish you'd been along sooner sparkle!!!! Still they don't seem disturbed and both have very sophisticated humour...I'll see what the middle of the night brings in terms of "MUUUUUM there's a disembodied HAND in my rooooooom!"

Shock

They may well be able to handle it, you never know. But my 6yo absolutely couldn't. And it's just not something I'd choose to let them watch when there's so many other fun films around. Much like my best friend who lets her 3yo son watch all the Star Wars films, why on earth she thinks that's appropriate at 3 I just can't fathom. We're just different that's all.
