To not want to think or talk about Christmas

It is August. It is still quite warm. No, I have no idea what we are doing for Christmas. No, I haven't thought about starting my Christmas shopping.

I hate Christmas usually anyway.

I hope people appreciate that it is only in this country that the build up and fuss over Christmas lasts for months. You have to question why this is. It's totally bonkers and spoils it for me every year.

We will be having the smallest quiet Christmas ever! Dh may even have to work. That would leave me and Dd (age 7) all alone.
Both older boys are in UK at Grandmas and will probably have a brilliant time. First time ever I haven't had all my kids and Dh together on Christmas day. Not even anything fun to buy, we are supposed to be selling and getting rid of stuff to back to UK. Only a present or two for Dd to buy and send money to the boys to get what they want. So I won't even start on anything till December.
If I'm really lucky, we will get the house and cars sold by Christmas and be in UK with the rest of the family. Now that would be fantastic. So cross yur fingers all our stuff sells quickly. please!

I just ignore the entire thing, much cheaper and no stress.

Oh how I laugh at all the people saying how wrong it is to think about Christmas in the middle of the summer holidays... As an Australian, Christmas is all about the summer holidays. Smile

We generally have the conversation about where people will be spending Christmas around now so that people can make appropriate plans (much easier when there are distances ranging from 200 miles to 13000 miles involved) and if I see something thapt would be a nice present for someone I will buy it when I see it.

Of course, I'm also the sort of annoying person who bus their Christmas cards and wrap in the sales after Christmas, so that's another thing not to have to worry about!
