Weed smoking as a regular habit

Talking to a group of old uni mates today and we got talking about the parties, weed smoking etc and I was really that a lot of them still smoked (weed) regularly and a couple had a joint or 2 pretty much every night & didn't see it as any different to those that crack open a bottle of wine once the kids are in bed!
AIBU to think this group were unsual & most 30/40 somethings with jobs & kids aren't doing drugs or am I out of touch with reality?

I had a high powered job in the 80s and 90s. Those who abused drugs eventually failed.

DH has a high powered job and has been doing it for about 25 years; those who have been suspected of being addicted to illegal drugs have fallen by the wayside - unreliability, unpredictability, lack of focus, not being quite on the ball or behaving as required. As indeed have the alcoholics. The nicotene smokers seem OK though .

ive never heard anyone in RL describe their job as 'high-powered'....

illegal does not equal immoral, and
legal does not equal moral

Exactly, icecold. That's why what George Osborne, Boots and all the rest of them who avoid paying their taxes are not breaking the law; what they do is definitely immoral, though.
