Even if it is just to move him a couple of feet? DH just did this to DS to move him away from the TV and refuses to accept he shoudn't have done it. AIBU or am I being PFB?

Yanbu.

Why did he not just scoop him up? Confused

Shinyshoes1 · 27/08/2012 19:29

PFB, it doesn't hurt them.

I used to do it to mine

SummerRain · 27/08/2012 19:29

Depends.... was it an expensive t-shirt? It could have ripped.

OHforDUCKScake · 27/08/2012 19:30

PFB. I used to lift DC1 by his gro bag. He used to think it was hilarious.

BonkeyMollocks · 27/08/2012 19:30
Hmm

same thing? maybe yab a tad u.

workshy · 27/08/2012 19:30

we used to pick ours up by the dungarees all the time -never tried it with a t-shirt though?

hokeycakey · 27/08/2012 19:31

Dh and other friends dh's do this. I don't, will not hurt ds so I would say yabu

Catsmamma · 27/08/2012 19:33

mine used to get picked up by dungarees...best to make sure they are not the popper gusset type though.

i'd say you are being about 30% pfb.

booksandchoc · 27/08/2012 19:33

My friend lifts her 9 week old son by the front of his sleep suit. She's has always done it. I wouldn't dare but I don't think there is anything wrong with it

Rainshine · 27/08/2012 19:35

Pfb

comelywench · 27/08/2012 19:36

DH does it. I hate it.

LST · 27/08/2012 19:36

YABU sorry.

DS loves being hung, upside down by his dungas and all sorts.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/08/2012 19:38

YABU as long as DC was supported by T-shirt on chest not neck...

onedev · 27/08/2012 19:38

If he didn't hurt him then YABU Grin

Heavensmells · 27/08/2012 19:39

I lift my ds by his grobag and his dugarees.

I wouldn't lift by his t shirt though, they are much flimsier and I wouldn't want the material to rip.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 27/08/2012 19:42

Generally I think men are more heavy handed with babies/kids and tend not to think things through in a motherly, living way.

So, man sees baby needs moving-move baby the quickest way.

As long as your ds wasn't hurt I don't see the problem. My dh insists on carrying our ds2 like a sack of spuds on his shoulder and I HATE it. But it doesn't hurt him.

I'm sure it will be the first of many things you disagree with re child rearing. Let dh know you don't like it and leave it at that.

Posterofapombear · 27/08/2012 19:52

I wish I didn't but I do this all the time. It's convenient and DD loves it Grin

lemonbonbons · 27/08/2012 19:54

Did you not find it funny Grin

UmmOfUmbridge · 27/08/2012 19:55

Pfb
They usually find it funny.
I do it with dungarees - never clothes but can't see the harm.

CaveJohnson · 27/08/2012 19:57

YABU.

MrsKeithRichards · 27/08/2012 19:57

That's why my son wears dungas!

minikimmi · 27/08/2012 19:59

I mind my dad doing this to me and DB when we were about 4 and 5! We loved it, thought it was hilarious. What's the problem?

BillComptonstrousers · 27/08/2012 20:04

I still lift my 6 month old by the front of her sleepsuit sometimes, it doesn't hurt her. What exactly are you upset about? Am I missing something?

NCForNow · 27/08/2012 20:04

I think it's fine myself.

Floggingmolly · 27/08/2012 20:05

It reminds me of lifting a dog by the scruff of the neck. They don't mind it either, apparently, but it looks undignified for the child.
