People rave about it but it really is hack, unfunny, shit imo.

YANBU. Dreadful show that's painfully embarrassingly bad to watch! How it could ever be compared to Father Ted is beyond me. Completely different humour altogether.

squoosh · 27/08/2012 13:21

God I love Fr Ted.

LineRunner · 27/08/2012 13:21

It is not similar to Father Ted in the sense that Dermot Morgan tragically died, but Brendan O'Carroll is tragically still with us.

squoosh · 27/08/2012 13:22

Realise that sounds like an elderly parishoner confessing to God her lust for her parish priest Grin

ExitStencilist · 27/08/2012 13:24

anyone who likes it goes straight on my shit list. Beyond awful, stereotypical, embarassing trash.

MrMiyagi · 27/08/2012 13:25

Linerunner harsh but fair Grin

CleoSmackYa · 27/08/2012 13:26

YANBU. My folks always rave about it and made me watch it when I stayed. I managed 2 hours out of politeness.

CockyPants · 27/08/2012 13:28

AIBU to say its a chavvy programme?

CockyPants · 27/08/2012 13:28

Keith Lemons stuff is Chav too...

MardyBra · 27/08/2012 13:30

Have only watched a bit and really didn't get it. It reminded me of the sitcom in Extras.

LineRunner · 27/08/2012 13:33

MrMiyagi, I haven't even had a drink yet.

Lilithmoon · 27/08/2012 13:33

Yes you are being unreasonable cocky. What do you mean by chavvy? Someone not as good as you?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/08/2012 13:35

YANBU.

McFarts · 27/08/2012 13:37

yes yabu cockypants im far from chav (what defines who is btw!!!) but i think its fecking hilarious! Grin are you a snob? is that why you think its chav? Wink

futureunkown · 27/08/2012 13:38

YANBU, it is awful.

Krumbum · 27/08/2012 13:38

Mardybra! Your right. It's just like that!
Mrs browns boys is nothing like father ted expect for they are both Irish programmes, being from the same country does not make them similar Hmm

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 27/08/2012 13:39

I do not understand Keith Lemon at all.

Unfunny, tasteless, lack of any wit, intelligence or warmth.

marquesas · 27/08/2012 13:44

I've only seen a couple of episodes which may not be representative of them all but I found myself actually enjoying it and its not the sort of programme I would usually choose to watch.

I didn't see any similarities to Fr Ted although one of the ones I've seen was about a priest who was losing his faith - do all the episodes involve the church?

ExitStencilist · 27/08/2012 13:44

its not from the same country, its filmed in Scotland and produced by bbc scotland.
Youse can own the horror of it.

PerfectStranger74 · 27/08/2012 13:47

It's horrendous, puerile SHIT.
I watched ten minutes of it, just wondering what the FUCK people were laughing at?!?

TheCrackFox · 27/08/2012 13:48

It is a load if shite. Almost like someone found a script from the 1970's and thought they may aswell commission it as they had nothing else on.

squoosh · 27/08/2012 13:49

I wish I could say it wasn't Irish but sadly it is, it's written by and stars Brendan O'Carroll as well as his entire family (!).

It was reshot by BBC Scotland when being brought to the UK.

Mrsjay · 27/08/2012 13:53

we had a whole keith lemon thread I just dont 'get' the joke

, anyway Mrs browns boys was on in the background the other night and I didnt laugh I guess folk just have different senses of humour loads of people love it
