because my children are tall?

If I go into an adult shop and buy a top in a 12 and a top in an 18 they are the same price so how can Scholars (school uniform shop) justify charging +£2 or +£4 for the medium and large sizes of uniform!

Overall the uniform I just bought for my son has cost me £17.50 more than my friend paid for the same uniform for her shorter child. And thats only the logo'd stuff - I shop elsewhere for trousers thank goodness!

It really, really p's me off - grrrrr

I agree. I think it's partly to do with VAT rules. VAT isn't added to children's clothes and shoes but the measurements they use to define a child were set donkey's years ago and aren't really representative of the size of children these days. So those of us with tall children with big feet pay 20% more. Not fair at all.

It is as neurotic says. it's to do with the sizes of the clothes not being children's measurements. You'd think they'd be able to waive it for logo'd stuff though!

I agree it's about VAT, kids clothes are only VAT free up until the old measurements for 14yos as that is when kids left school when the legislation was brought in. My 11yo is borderline going up to VATable sizes as he is tall.
