Life's little frustrations

  1. Peeling an egg that will not peel easily!
I have just peeled 3 eggs from the same box. Two peeled fine, but the third was stubborn, and involved picking off tiny shards of shell, which pulled huge chunks of egg away. Why, egg, why? Just co-operate!

I am not in UK so my frustrations might seem a little odd, but:

Putting slightly dirty clothes into my washing machine then taking them out with new, improved stains which they didn't have when they went in.

Putting (bloody expensive) cereal into a bowl, pouring milk which looks fine for the first bit then suddenly a blob of rancid, curdled stuff drops into the bowl and I have to throw the whole lot in the bin. Grrrrrrr.....

peel your hard boiled eggs in a bowl of water

All the skin and shell comes away nicely and no shelly bits in your egg mayo sandwiches!

Learning that gem was lifechanging.

The doors at school. The building is old and the doorways are wide. But they have double doors and only one is ever open at any time. Meaning that there is always a jam of people trying to get in and out.

And the kids never stand back for the adults. I sometimes stand there for several minutes until I can get through. (I'm an old gimmer and when I was at school we had to always give way for adults).

Luckily now the child is in P4 I don't have to go inside the building every day any more.
