To ask about Fruit Shoots and Pom Bears?

I've only joined MN this week and I can see I'm among plenty of like minded folk Grin.

I keep seeing references to Fruit Shoots and Pom Bears though and I'm confused! Am I right in thinking these are terms that tend to start arguments as some think these are only consumed by a certain type of child??

Not trying to start anything as my DD loves both...but I do wear a scarf Wink and occasionally have judgey pants on Wink

Fruit shoots are for arguments.

Pom bears are a mumsnetty delicacy that are offered around at dinner parties.

MrsKeithRichards · 22/08/2012 21:31

Pombear anyone?

If you're new to Mumsnet, check out the classics thread.

I have never laughed so hard at a bunch of strangers in my life. (In a mostly naice way.)

LittleMoo6 · 22/08/2012 21:34

Love the pombear smiley!!!

I have had such a laugh just on the AIBU board these last few days. Cheers for the tip on the classics board.

rinsing mince is one that get a mention from time to time but never seen anyone say what it is

hiddenhome · 22/08/2012 21:37

Fruit Shoots are made from left over nuclear waste and are used by people who wish to strengthen their childrens' characters. They go well with Greggs Sausage Rolls and Nik Naks (reprocessed plutonium rods) Grin

MrsKeithRichards · 22/08/2012 21:37

The pombears are explained on a thread in classics. Something about are these people mad?

It's hilarious and well worth the hour it'll take you to read!

naturalbaby · 22/08/2012 21:38

YABU, get to the classics thread now. Hope you're not planning an early night?

YY go to classics, there are some brilliant ones on there (I recommend the poo pouffe thread Grin) I'm still making my way through it.
You'll see references to naice ham and greggs on occasion too Grin
I remember rinsing mince but cannot remember what the thread was now.

I don't get the scarf thing, I seem to have missed that one!

confusedpixie · 22/08/2012 21:42

Oh! And if your toddler had AIBU or similar name is a brilliant thread too, was repeated a few weeks ago I think but brilliant Grin

DozyDuck · 22/08/2012 21:47

Where do I find classics on my iPad app?

McHappyPants2012 · 22/08/2012 22:00

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics

if links work follow that one

mrscumberbatch · 22/08/2012 22:16

I hate it when classics links get posted because I HAVE to reread my favourites and it means that there will be no sleep tonight.

chipsandmayonnaise · 22/08/2012 22:24

Sorry- but if you are going to wander around classics then you have to read the Bobble Plate thread.

I read that years after it was posted with my heart in my mouth and then actually cried when the plate came out behind the toilet cistern safely. DH said to me (at about 2 in the morning) 'what are you doing?' I said 'waiting to see if a bobble plate can be rescued from behind a toilet'. He said 'God, you are mumsnetting again, aren't you'.

Also read the AIBU thread where someone posts something like 'AIBU to think my neighbours can fold their buggy?' It was fucking hysterical. It had everything. Prejudice, anger, pathos, and then when explanation photos were posted a total turnaround to an unanimous YANBU, OMFG!!!!'.

Hope you are not working tomorrow. :) Order in coffee and cake.

DozyDuck · 22/08/2012 22:24

Thank you happy Grin pombears!!! I see!!!
