"No food aloud"

StormGlass · 22/08/2012 15:07

I went into a small greengrocers shop today, and they had a sign next to the door saying "No food aloud".

WIBU to ask them why they're discriminating against noisy food?

YANBU, that's terribly foodist. Did they also have a sign with a random apostrophe? (our local shop has a "no dog's allowed" one). Which is worse, the spelling or the grammar?!

Tittywhistles · 22/08/2012 15:40

Potato's can be very vocal in a Greengrocery.

Always arguing with the tomato's

That's outrageous. Those pomegranate pips will soon lose the will to live if they can't at least chat to each other.

HecateHarshPants · 22/08/2012 15:42

I blame Girls Aloud.

I bet there's a whole generation of people who now think you're aloud to do something.

Itsjustafleshwound · 22/08/2012 15:45

Things must cost alot ...

juniper904 · 22/08/2012 16:07

Hassled don't the pomegranate pips loose the will to live?

emsyj · 22/08/2012 16:09

The 'sells everything' junk shop near my mum once had a big display of paper dinnerware and plastic forks with a sign saying 'Party Bowels'. I have often wished I had a set of party bowels over the years...

cheesesarnie · 22/08/2012 16:09

Poor sprouts!

Agree Hecate!

Enfyshedd · 22/08/2012 16:56

Local greengrocers were recently selling "necterins & peach's" Hmm. It was "Nectarines & Peaches" by the next day.

squoosh · 22/08/2012 16:58

Party Bowels! That's a niche interest I'm sure.

Ick.

Rachog · 22/08/2012 17:01

I was getting all judgey over your title and clicked in to see how many people had pointed out your mistake.

quirkychick · 22/08/2012 17:02

Party bowels sound painful Grin.

The school where I worked had suedes on the menu once...

Vix07 · 22/08/2012 17:06

ha ha love it! I work in a restaurant & one of the waitresses keeps putting orders for 'muscles' into the kitchen...must admit the new kitchen assistant is pretty fit tho!

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 22/08/2012 17:08

Washington Services on the A1 once had a sign inviting you to "Cho'ose" six items for your cooked breakfast.

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 22/08/2012 17:09

Hecate

Its Girl's Aloud, I believe .....

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 22/08/2012 17:10

Bike

That one has me foxed. How the blazes did they think that was the spelling?

FutureNannyOgg · 22/08/2012 17:32

Pork scratching anyone?

peeriebear · 22/08/2012 17:39

It's not food related (unless you have a niche fetish) but my local Morrisons has a big sign up proclaiming 'Men's and Women's Underware'. It makes me stabby every time I pass it. Somebody had to okay that for printing!

TyrannoSoreArse · 22/08/2012 17:41

New Look never even bothered to reply to my email informing them that every single store had an enormous poster procclaiming that 'Your a Star!' Hmm

epeesarepointythings · 22/08/2012 18:25

No, no, no, peerie! Morrisons has it absolutely right, obviously.

Men's underware = really macho metallic trivets and coasters, with pictures of Jeremy Clarkson on.

Women's underware = the same thing, but in Cath Kidston type flowery things.

Maybe Grin

KatoPotato · 22/08/2012 18:28

Apparently 'Coat's downstairs' so you could ask him?
