Probably just the once. I quite like the smell once it's been rained on - is that weird?

MrsKeithRichards · 21/08/2012 18:57

Rain is water no?

Twice is my limit!

StellarforStar · 21/08/2012 19:57

Rainwater isn't dirty until it hits the ground.

Don't rewash it!

ekupeg · 21/08/2012 20:10

Rewash it straight away and don't leave it out there in the rain in the first place

LilyCocoplatt · 21/08/2012 20:20

Well mine got rained on 3 or 4 times today and I've had to rewash it as it smelled a bit damp and musty when I brought it inside to put it on the clothes horse.

yellowraincoat · 21/08/2012 20:21

Lord, it's only a bit of water, what the hell do you think that's going to do to it? Make it dirty somehow?

Randomchocolatebiscuit · 21/08/2012 20:21

how long is a piece of string? I wouldn't wash it again.

WildWorld2004 · 21/08/2012 21:29

I left my washing out yesterday and it rained for most of the day. When i took it in after tea about 6pm and it was basically dry. Thought it was a bit odd.

Usually if washing is soaking wet i will spin it but wont rewash it.

marriedinwhite · 21/08/2012 21:33

Until it's survived so many showers it has bird poo on it and even then only the bits with bird poo on.

bionicmummy · 21/08/2012 21:34

I'm glad you asked this OP

It's supposed to rain really hard tonight

Washing is out but I cannot be arsed getting it in.

I'm too lazy tired to get off my ass

NovackNGood · 21/08/2012 21:38

One day the rain could be full of dust from the sahara, another day the rain may have no effect at all.

AgentProvocateur · 21/08/2012 21:39

I never re-wash. I live in Glasgow, so it can be out for a week or more before it dries!

downbythewater · 21/08/2012 23:26

It depends- if it rains but then the sun comes out it smells lovely! If it rains then the weather stays damp and crap for days it smells minging.

nokidshere · 21/08/2012 23:28

no rewashing here - no matter how many times it gets wet!

scarlettsmummy2 · 21/08/2012 23:30

Depends what it is, I probably would if it was my babies stuff or was going to be worn for something special.

WelshMaenad · 21/08/2012 23:32

Unless it's manky rain full of sand I don't bother. Rain water is actually a good fabric softener!

FredWorms · 21/08/2012 23:37

So it's true then? Some people really do re-wash clothes if they get rained on whilst on the line?

FredWorms · 21/08/2012 23:38

It's madness.

BegoniaBigtoes · 21/08/2012 23:40

Wash it again Confused that's what the rain is doing surely?

My record is over two weeks on the line, including a family holiday, and I've never rewashed. I would if it looked or smelled dirty but it doesn't. After being rained on and then dried again by the sun it's lovely!

But DS (aged 7) actually got some sheets in today when it started to rain, I was like "oh leave it" and he was going "But MUM it's getting WET!" Poor child - he's the spawn of slattern :o

(Live in Scotland - maybe it's nice clean rain?)

SoleSource · 22/08/2012 00:03

Wadh again here rain water is from dirty rivers etc.innit.

QuangleWangleQuee · 22/08/2012 00:26

Rain gets the wrinkles out, so less ironing needed. I wouldn't dream of washing it if it had been rained on once. Probably wouldn't leave it to get rained on again though.

Kayano · 22/08/2012 00:29

I haven't used a washing line since spidergate 2007

Tumble all the way.
