To think that my neighbour should stop cooking strong smelling curry?

Because it smells just like chip shop curry sauce and they don't do that right where I live so I can't even go and buy chips and curry sauce to satisfy the craving that it's giving me. Not pregnant, just hungry for grease.

'Snot fair.

YANBU. Go and ask for the recipe :)

I have a new neighbour who is Vietnamese. I met her last week, 2 days before she actually moved in, and she told me she loves cooking and would cook for me :) I love her.

AllYoursBabooshka · 21/08/2012 18:17

I hate my boring neighbors.

Silibilimili · 21/08/2012 18:21

Go around and ask for the recipe!Grin

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2012 18:22

I once told my Sri Lankan neighbour that whatever she cooks for dinner every Tuesday smells gorgeous and could I please have the recipe.

She looked at me like this ----> Confused and said, "I boil my Husband's work overalls every Tuesday".

Ha, I remember that story Worral, it cracked me upGrin

I'd love it if anyone came to my house and told me my food smelled great and asked for the recipe, it would make my year.

LadyBeagleEyes · 21/08/2012 18:28

I once had a German flatmate (when I lived in Amsterdam) who boiled pigs trotters all day.
It was the most disgusting smell ever, and I was never sure what he did with them after they were cooked.

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2012 18:30

Errrm no. He's a boiler technician in an engine production factory Blush

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2012 18:31

Oh God my Mum used to boil pig's trotters, they were one of hers and my Dad's favourite dinners.

The Irish call them Crubeens

HecateHarshPants · 21/08/2012 18:32

Go knock on the door, say sorry to bother you and I hope you don't think I'm weird Grin, but your cooking smells delicious and I was hoping you might share your recipes with me.

Other people's cooking always smells better. I don't know why it is.

I am a good cook btw Grin but I always want a bit of what they're having.

NettOlympicSuperstar · 21/08/2012 18:35

I really want to cook pig's trotters, and half a pig's head for Christmas dinner, but then I am slightly strange.

Frontpaw · 21/08/2012 18:36

Worra - your parents or the trotters?

Were your parents WW2 kids? The things my mum used to eat! It was best not to ask what type of meat or potted muystery she was having. And raw liver! Its amazing she lived so long.

I have tried horse. Not as bad as you'd think.

Mrsjay · 21/08/2012 18:38

My husband is a gas engineer his over alls stink of gas and flame proof stuff I will have a sniff and see if they smell oniony Grin

My mil used to make potted meat as did my gran grans was the best but i wouldnt want to mention what goes in it , fab on toast though

Mrsjay · 21/08/2012 18:39

Krumbum · 21/08/2012 18:44

I'm currently living above a mosque kitchen. You get used to it!

MrMiyagi · 21/08/2012 19:33

Go round and ask for the recipe, hopefully you'll get a bowlful :)

BsshBossh · 21/08/2012 21:17

If she's anything like my parents then she'll offer to cook for you if you compliment her on the delicious aromas. But then again she might become self-conscious about her cooking smells being commented on...

NarkedRaspberry · 21/08/2012 23:16

Grin at Worra's overall fetish.
