I didn't think anything of it - until DH expressed his disapproval! I don't see the harm in it. Am I being unreasonable?

No probs. I have 3 ds's and they all love prams.

I read once that prams suit both sexes cos "girls want one for the baby and boys want one for the wheels" - it was a very old childrearing book but even they seemed to think it was okay.

doest his dad ever push his sons buggy ? get your son a buggy they even come in blue these days , your husband is being a macho arse

I think it made the supermarket staff's day. He still pushes the full sized trolley now years later.

thisis nice post

My 2.5 yr old DS has played with DD's old Baby Annabel, pink pushchair etc more than she ever did, and her little ELC ironing board and pink mini-Dyson! I always say he's a modern man and my DH doesn't bat an eyelid (my Dad has made remarks but I take the mick out of his caveman attitude)

Moominsarescary · 21/08/2012 18:13

Ds1 had a Hoover, dustpan kitchen and pushchair. Unfortunate it hasn't made him want to clean, he's 17 now. He is good with his baby brother though

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 21/08/2012 18:57

my mum bouught DS1 his first barbie, ds2 had a 'backpack baby seat' and beany bob and bess were his favourite toys for a good while, I was a bit cross at how many funny looks we got with a boy (aged 3-4) who had 2 dolls and how many kids who said 'he's got a doll!' in a shocked voice. who cares, they are both lovely compassionate and caring young men now and ds1 is certainly not gay ds2 too early to tell but who cares anyway, playing with 'girls toys' does NOT 'make you gay'

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 21/08/2012 19:14

Yes, of course, allowing your DS to push a toy buggy will result in him developing effeminate behaviour and will probably result in him being homosexual. Yes, of course.

mumof4sons · 21/08/2012 19:22

The only way I could get DS2 to walk any where was for him to push his toy buggy with his 'dolly' in it. His younger brothers (DS3 and DS4) happily played with same pushchair. We were all very sad to see it go when DS4 was about 6/7 years old. They also had a play kitchen and a log cabin house in the garden.

My DS is 8 and had a toy buggy from 2-5. WTAF is your other half worried about? Did/does he ever push yous DS in his buggy? What a fucking backwards chauvanistic fucking tosserattitude to have. I hate hate hate men who have thses irrational feelings. Thank fucking god my DP is above that kind of thinking.
