To ask for help in choosing the perfect present??

Ok, so I know I am shamelessly abusing the AIBU boards but I really need some help.

My DSis is moving far from home and I need some inspiration on the perfect present for her, something that tells her how much she means to me but that she can keep too. I have thought about getting something practical but I want it to be more 'special'. I also don't have a huge budget (too many birthdays this month plus holiday).

I gave thought about one of those half/half sister pendant things but that seems a bit cheesy and more appropriate for a 12 year old girl. Another idea was maybe a charm type bracelet with a charm for home or family.

Any help would be really appreciated Thanks Smile.

A really expensive key fob/key ring for keys to house. She'll use it everyday

How about going to photo box a website where you download photos and doing a photo album from when you were both born up to current day, it shows a lot of thought and doesn't take up to much room and isn't expensive?

ARC Kisses (find them on fb) make personalises pictures... you choose a style and it is filled with names, dates, places etc. I recently purchased a 'family tree' one for my parents as my sister was getting married. It was £30 including mount, potsage and packaging. I just got a nice plain frame from marks and sparks.

What about a naice washbag from Anya Hindmarch with a picture of the two of you as kids? Expensive, but well nice.

A jewellery box - Grin, my sister bought be a nice one a few years ago (wasn't that dear) and I always think of her every time I see it. You an upload photos onto jute bags via Tescos photo website for £4 or so - its a favourite granny present in our house.

Thank you do much, these are all really good suggestions. I'll definitely do the photo one (a lot of scanning required though!) and possibly or two of the other suggestions. Thanks again all Thanks Smile.

I copied an idea I saw on a personalised gift site.
A4 sized sheet with 6 heart (or other) shapes on it. Each shape was filled with a map of a different place my sister had lived ( used Word or Publisher, can't remember which but either would do I think). The background to the hearts was a nice colour and I printed it out on photo paper and framed it.
