to wish cinemas would put film end times on their websites?

Really pisses me off that I am not sure when to pick the kids or H up! If you ring or go in and ask, you get blank looks and "Er...probably about 2 hours after the start time"....I could work that out myself funnily enough!

Knowing how long the film is is no use as you can never be sure how long the ads etc will be. Some of the kids showings dont have ads, but lots of trailers.

Would it really be so hard to do?

I allow 15 mins for ads, its often nearer 20 but then at least its me waiting around rather than vice versa. But yes its annoying.

FuckityFuckFuck · 19/08/2012 19:47

They do tell you the running time, add around 20 minutes for trailers, getting out etc

BertieBotts · 19/08/2012 19:48

It's always 20 minutes for ads plus the film running time.

bogeyface · 19/08/2012 19:48

I usually end up waiting atleast ten minutes in my efforts to make sure the kids arent hanging around.

Surely just a note on the film info "Approx run time including trailers - 2hours 20 minutes" wouldnt be so hard to do?

It's because they don't want people turning up strategically late to miss the trailers, I bet.

bogeyface · 19/08/2012 19:49

I tell a lie, they do but not on the local listsing, you have to go the main site listings.

I still think it wouldnt hurt!

YANBU! That's why I use Google's cinema listings search, it gives the length right next to the showing times. Just add 20-30 mins for ads/trailers.

zoflora · 20/08/2012 13:48

If you are going to a Vue cinema there is a way to find the end time.
Just click on the performance time you want as if you were going to book tickets online.
The next page will then be headed with the date, name of film and the start and end time of the programme

Ithinkitsjustme · 20/08/2012 13:50

I'm sure there are ways to calculate the end time, but it would be a great idea if they just advertised it - how hard can it be? YANBU

BarredfromhavingStella · 20/08/2012 14:10

We got 30 bloody mins of ads & trailers when we went on Saturday Angry

MrsKeithRichards · 20/08/2012 14:25

I like the adverts. Normal ones look so different on the big screen and I love the trailers. I sit with my diary out and write the names of all the things I want to see down.

limitedperiodonly · 20/08/2012 14:29

I always want to know that.

And the actual starting time as opposed to the time spent watching ads and trailers.

Though I want them to keep the accurate start time a secret from everyone else because then even more people than already do would traipse in late and fidget and annoy me.

limitedperiodonly · 20/08/2012 14:32

mrskeithrichards May I recommend one of those pens with lights in that film critics and geeks like me have.

everybodysang · 20/08/2012 15:12

I used to work in an independent arthouse cinema and we were given the exact running time of the adverts and trailers for every film at the start of each week. So we could give everyone the exact starting time of the film, and when it ended. So it is possible... it is very annoying when you can't find the info when you need it.

TheBigJessie · 20/08/2012 15:13

YANBU! That is all.

amybelle1990 · 20/08/2012 15:52

That's such a good idea!

but some idiot will probs get confused if there are two times next to a film :P
