To put DS in a kilt until he's potty trained?

DS is 2.10yo and a very obliging toddler - he's largely got the hang of potty training. When clothed, if I remind him to sit on the potty occasionally; he's dry. If he is pantless then he will take himself off for a wee independently.

If he's wearing pants and I don't remind him - puddles.

He has a kilt which he's due to wear at a family wedding in a couple of weeks... Grin

Draughty Grin

Why not, after all boys wearing trousers at that age is a new fangled modern idea! With a young DS I can well see why they did not breech them until they were older. Perhaps keep it clean until the wedding though! Grin

Kilt him. Kilts are so cute on weans!

AmINearlyThereYet · 18/08/2012 21:12

Brilliant idea! Wishing I'd thought of it.

That's the worry, DrCoconut! Grin

Might buy an extra one

excellent idea. Going comando with loose shorts worked for DS.

Krumbum · 18/08/2012 23:05

That's a really good idea! They could start selling potty training kilts.

Littlegreenbear · 18/08/2012 23:07

Lol at potty training kilts!

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 18/08/2012 23:12

I bloody knew this would be you!! Grin

Having the same problem here. Obviously I am using dresses, but they still need changing as they get wet, but dd does use the toilet more with a dress and no nappy.

What about making dome little David beckamesque sarongs too?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 18/08/2012 23:16

What a clever idea! I generally leave DS1 naked all day, but he keeps trying ti escape out the front door... Grin

mistressploppy · 19/08/2012 22:01

TBH I think DS would be quite happy in a frock, but DH (unenlightened Grin ) might object

Our girls were pantless for 3 weeks as they had the same issue. They got the hang of it and are now happily wearing pants and asking for the potty when they need it. Good luck!
