I did a first aid course recently. During a presentation on CPR we were warned againt performing CPR on a person who had been decapitated. Hmm

I have put this previously on a useless advice thread but it it relevant here too..... Grin
Asda fresh celery has a warning on the back...
'allergy advice: contains celery'
Confused

Glittertwins · 19/08/2012 21:01

The salmon I bought was Asda too

maybenow · 19/08/2012 21:05

my mountain bike gloves say that they 'do not prevent risk of death or serious injury in event of a crash'

Slightly OT but a while ago I was working and a woman asked me what flavour crisps we sold. I named prawn cocktail and some others. Her reply "oh I can't have the prawn cocktail, I'm allergic to shellfish!"

Hmm

I have been on the look out for a 'Warning: does NOT contain shellfish' sign ever since though!

JambalayaCodfishPie · 19/08/2012 22:42

Also slightly OT - have just tonight realised that on the side of the dishwasher tablets it says Not for emergency use.

What constitutes a dishwasher emergency? Confused

Woopdiedoo · 19/08/2012 22:59

Eva's mum - I was once on a training course with some Muslim women. We were provided lunch and there were some crisps in a bowl. One lady ate the crisps and started asking everybody what flavour they were. She was clearly panicking the hen everybody confirmed they were bacon flavour. We tried out best to convince her that this was just artificial flavouring and contained no pork. She still looked worried though and didn't eat them. I felt quite bad for her.

What about these fruit flavoured body washes that say delectable to use, but not to eat'.

Some clothes - Do not iron while wearing.

TroublesomeEx · 20/08/2012 07:36

It is stupid but it's on the back of the person scalded by hot coffee case isn't it?

Nobody really thinks people can't work it out for themselves, but in the event that someone can't and is injured, they can't use "but the product didn't tell me not to" or similar in their defence.

'I like the fact that you should not under any circumstances use DS' paddling pool as a floatation device'

'Those paddling pool stickers make me really want to take one to the beach to see what would happen if I used it as a lilo'

Neither of you live on the South coast then? We get idiots every year that try this.

fuzzpig · 20/08/2012 07:58

Love the 'remove cat first'! :o

I think it was one of the boots toiletry ranges (with very 'foody' scents like Chocolate and Banana) that always had the warning "delectable but not edible"

FunnyLittleFrog · 20/08/2012 07:58

Those Walkers Max crisps have a picture of one huge crisp on the front and underneath it says 'Not actual size'.

FunnyLittleFrog · 20/08/2012 08:01

Oh, loved the recipe I was following the other day on the BBC website. Included the instructions 'cut on a chopping board' and 'serve on a plate'.

SoleSource · 20/08/2012 08:34

All part of the dumb down Britain campaign.

JumpingThroughMoreHoops · 20/08/2012 09:07

Typos are better.

I bought a slow cooker and was leafing through the book for inspiration and came across a recipe that said "add baby aborigines" - I scoured Sainsburys for week, to no avail

My DD has a paediatric version of a medicine, which is for under 12s. It has Paediatric in the title of the medicine.

It says on the instructions "If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your Doctor before taking Blahdeblah Paediatric." Confused
