My DH does no exercise. None of his family do any exercise or have any hobbies or do any sport. It is really starting to bug me now because he has developed a back problem and the physio has said he needs to strengthen his muscles. He did 3 sit ups yesterday then stopped because they hurt.
I'm really trying not to get irritated but it is really bugging me. He is a lovely man but as my kids are getting older I have started getting fit again and he seems to be letting himself go. I don't want to be married to a couch potato for the rest of my life.

Yoga has done wonders for my lower back pain. Swimming helped too, but our local pool is outdoors and closes in winter, so off to Yoga I went and I'm loving it. I can't do sit ups to save my life, makes my lower back hurt worse than ever.

Horizontal jogging may help....or maybe a way to entice a bout of say cycling or swimming - would avoid just starting to do sit ups as done badly will cause more problems.

Treblesallround - would love to do this 1) if we had the money 2) if DH liked horses. He does do a bit of cycling sometimes but I cannot expext a 6 pack at 46.

Another vote here for Yoga and Pilates. I have scoliosis. Awful pain, drugs were awful, mobility reduced. Had some physio, amazing stuff, followed on with yoga and pilates. No pain in years. Core strength is amazing. If I let it lag it soon comes back on though.

If I were you I'd avoid the chiropractor route. They're expensive quacks in my experience but often tempting as it seems an easy route.
